She was an excellent partner and tolerated me pretty well when I didn't have to compete with Emmett. On the ferry back from Alcatraz she showed a decided preference for being held by Emmett though.

She is OBSESSED with boys Emmett's age. There's a brother of her classmate that always comes in to help drop his sister off and when he walks in the classroom, she stops what ever she's doing and stands there, with her fingers in her mouth, stares at him, and then smiles around her fingers. I watched her do it, coy little minx.

A daughter of a friend, even when she was only a few months old, and more and more as she grew older, would respond completely different to boys than she would to girls, and it would be even more pronounced when the boys were around her age.
