I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

With hair that long, it might get a little more limp up top but it won't be *that* high maintenance.

My hair is never really anything but limp, so I think I can handle that.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

Cutting layers in should help with the limpness, though.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Dana, my hair is pretty short, and I've never gotten it cut every six weeks. So I wouldn't worry about that. And Steph's right that there might be New Exciting Body in your shorter hair.

If only Nick Arrojo wasn't so expensive, and, like, in New York.

Once you've made the appointment for the $400 haircut, the transporation wouldn't seem like such a big deal, I'd think.

So I'm apparently literally incapable of working a full day. I held out so long today! But not quite long enough.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Having the babyfine-tending-to-lank hair myself, I can vouch for layers helping lots with volume. I also think a big haircut change is a good thing every few years. At the worst, you don't like it and grow it out, at the best, you find out a flattering and fantastic new look which you wouldn't if you'd kept doing the same old same old..

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

This is somewhat good news:

Coulter Fall Out

I think the tide is turning against her finally. The article I posted yesterday has had hundreds of thousands of downloads. She'll always have a home on FOX, but more and more conservatives pundits and bloggers are turning on her. I'm glad to be helping in that cause. The more she appears promoting her new book, the faster she will fall.

The NY Daily News has two articles out against her. "Coulter The Cruel" and "Ann's vicious screed"

Chris Durang: Ann Coulter - Tipping Point?

Just had mine cut yesterday and it always amazes me. Less hair and it looks kinda like more somehow.

Whoot! I did mine two months ago. I have a couple of years of skating by with it to look forward to before I need to find the courage to change again.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Works in the other direction too -- I have thick curly hair, and layers (decreasing the actual amount of hair) make it infinitely more manageable.

Layers are hair voodoo!

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Is Hecubus around? I need someone to tell me what to do with my hair.

You're getting good advice on the layers, but do be sure to emphasize to your stylist that you want to keep the length to about your bra strap. You can also have the hair cut at an angle framing your face a little bit. This will give some movement and shape to your fine hair. At your length it won't need a ton of maintenance. You can ease into it too. Get it cut to your bra strap, then have them just layer the ends for the last 8 inches or so (they can do this with a razor so it gives it more texture). Razors work very well for giving shape and texture to fine hair.

Bear in mind that shorter layers will fall out of ponytails and into your face, which might be bugsome since you're used to having it pulled back.

Ultimately, I think you'd look best with a shoulder length style with long layers starting below your eyes. But that's for later when you're ready to make a bigger leap.

If Shrift isn't going to have long hair, then this is how she should wear it.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

Root beer flavored green tea soda tastes...odd.
