Plan what to do, what to wear (you can never go wrong with a corset), and get ready for the next BuffistaCon: Madison, WI from June 20-22 2008! Official website.

Sail, seems to me like you're being an extremely thoughtful and prepared event planner!! Thank you for all of your work on this.
8 is the earliest I'd reserve us for. 8:30 would be my pref. Given that they have music etc, later, I think past twelve we'd be fine with overtaking the upper bar/dancing area. I'd also note that, while we do want some sort of eats, we tend to drink a lot more than we eat.
Yes, especially since most people tend to go out for dinner beforehand.
Oh, yeah. Everytime we've had eats, it's felt like we left much more than we ate. I don't even remember if we had any food at the F2F last year! We may have, but I just remember the drinking and dancing. And a lot of silly picture taking.
Any idea what a good dollar amount to put down on the bar would be? I mean, we have up to $1100 to spend on food and drink. That's a lot of drink.
We did have some food last year, and then the party in the bigger room took a liking to us and said we could eat from their buffet. Probably shouldn't count on that always happening.
No, I don't think so, heh. Still, we should have some food, so we don't get too overly stupid from booze. Their party platters average about $100 each and serve between 25-40. Plus, you can order half platters, that allows for a good variety. We wouldn't have to spend a lot of money there to get a reasonable amount of food.
Platters sound good to me. I agree that having a little food to offset the booze is a good thing.
And Sail, you are doing a great job. Please don't stress!
In terms of bar, I think we did a two or three hour open bar in NOLA. 9 to 12 I think? Do we need the bar to open at 8?
Or maybe the open bar was 9 to 11 and people bought their own after that? Can't remember. What were you thinking about that?
Let's get a few half platters. At least one should be vegetarian friendly. Then I would say pay for a good amount of booze with the top shelf liquor.
