Excellent, Tom! That, of course, doesn't make me stop wishing I was going to be in the Bay Area for your visit or libkitty's, but it helps.

Tom, I'd suggest my place, but since I'm now living in the far NW suburbs, it's not really a central location to doing, well, anything (it's close to work for me, and that's about it for pluses). I've heard the Best Western on N. Michigan Ave (I think that's where it's at) is a decent place for a reasonable-for-downtown price.

I'll be visiting DC eventually, Sparky.

YAY! You know that you have a place to stay with me! I'll even have a guest nook.

Embrace the idea that we are the leaders we've been looking for. Grace Lee Boggs

I'll be in SF for my 40th birthday in April, too!

Yeah, I saw some of your planning posts after the fact, Tom, and realized we weren't going to be able to connect, but I just couldn't get out of here earlier. Bummer.

Our birthdays are actually closer (3/30), but I'm not able to leave town on mine, so I'm celebrating a bit late. Spring break and holy week conspired against me this year.

eta: I'll miss you too, Sparky. I suppose you haven't been in DC long enough to take a vacation back to CA yet, huh.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

As for the DCistas, should any of you like to join Vortex and I for dinner tonight at City Lights, drop me a line at my profile addy!

Argh! If I'd seen this a few hours earlier, I totally would have been there.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Tom, I've never been inside this place [link] but the location is good for wandering/shopping/etc. A little more interesting than downtown, for sure, and it looks nice enough from the outside.

ChiKat might know more, she used to go to church down the street.

Doh! I knew I should've given in to the impulse to read the board from work today, even though I normally don't!

For those of you DCistas who did not/could not partake of the delicious tofu curl (it's my lunch today), the DH and I will be having a brunch-ish open house on April Fool's Day -- come see if we've actually got everything unpacked! -- for which I will send out details in the next day or so.
