How about write on my hands and then eat with them, because both willing and have. And, while I wouldn't on my tongue because it likely wouldn't tase very good, my only concern with having it on my lips would be that it would be there for an embarassingly long time.

Hadn't really thought about the licking part, I admit. My curiousity about what it looked like got me first; I'm not actually a proponent of artificially coloring animals. The request for a photo was pretty crass on my part - sorry, Sean.

I actually think it's funny, and it's in a place he can't lick, nor easily groom. I'm sure he'll be fine, I don't think the request for photos was crass, and I fully plan on posting them later tonight.

Anyway, Sean, I did some research just to make sure, and (although perhaps humiliating) the Sharpie does not seem to be harmful to pets, even if ingested. I thought you'd want to know in case you were worried about the kitty. Obviously I hope S. chooses not to do it again, but I was relieved to see that there's no harm done.

Actually, my flatmate did the same thing a few months ago, with paint. I went ballistic, but the cat was fine, and I felt like a bit of an eejit for overreacting. In retrospect, I feel a bit more entitled to go ballistic, because although the cat was fine, it could have been A Bad Thing.
Anyway, I'm sure that S wouldn't have done this with any conscious intention of harming the kitty, any more than I think my flatmate did, and I'm relieved to hear that Sharpie ink isn't dangerous to pets.
