[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls, The Inside and Drive), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath.

I gave up halfway through the first one. Though the last one, the montage, did provide me with my favorite comment on DHD:

Jeez. This strike has lasted so long we’re already into reruns of Speechless.

ETA: Letterman and Ferguson to return to the air WITH their writers.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Hollywood studios said Friday that striking writers have now lost more in salary and benefits than they had hoped to gain by walking off the job.

In the message posted on its Web site and YouTube, the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers claimed losses by writers in the eight-week strike have exceeded $151 million.

That's the price tag the Writers Guild of America put on its proposed three-year deal with studios.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Most of the Speechless videos are kind of sad or outright irritating, but the one with Alan Cumming is a total delight.

You know, we could experiment and cancel football.

Very funny, Kevin.

And since I am on a roll: I wish someone would give me ten million dollars and bring all the troops home from the middle east.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

Shouldn't it point directly at the clowns at unitedhollywood?

Never fall in love with somebody you actually love.

They should rename it unitedwank.com

HA! I think your next post, Kevin, should be translating the various Letterman related press releases into truthiness.

They should rename it unitedwank.com

I think someone already made that site. Only it's called Divided Hollywood.

I hadn't seen that Kristen - thanks. I've had a go at translating the Letterman thing, although I did it before coffee so it's a bit stupid.

I went to the MPTV fund website to link them up, and the page I landed on had a video entitled "IRA Support Video". For a second I was all, hang on, they tried to blow my best friend up years ago.

United Hollywood has announced StrikeTV, a streaming internet station.

The Guardian has an excellent article about it: [link]

It's basically an attempt by WGA members to launch a direct to consumer internet model themselves. They aim to have content going out by February sweeps.

ETA: I just had a thought about the Rob Thomas thing. Since Joss is doing BTVS and Angel still in comics, I can't see the WGA having an issue with Veronica Mars comics.
