When Angel season one was aired in the UK, it made it's way on to Channel 4 here. It was given a prime time, 6pm slot to replace previous hit TFI Friday. Aka, the slot which made Buffy successful in the UK (Buffy had more viewers in the UK than it had in the US).
Unfortunately, the first episode was missing about a minute and a half. That was just during the teaser, not the whole episode.
It still happens here in the UK. SciFi UK cut Angel episodes even though they show it at an 8pm time slot. I love 'You're Welcome' and always look foward to the Angel/Lindsay fight which is beautifully choreographed. So I was raging when the channel cut the part when Lindsay stabs Angel with his sword and Angel replies "well it would have hurt it if it had been made out of wood you dumbass". I mean why bother show the episode if you're going to cut out the good parts. In other news the M.E. picket line seems to have drawn a fair number of fans.
It was packed. And surprisingly orderly and well behaved. A little windy and cold though. I ran down there on my lunch hour and dropped off some food for the food drive. For some unknown reason I actually had a box of powdered milk in my pantry.
It was unbelievable. So many people came out. It was the biggest picket line we've ever had at Fox by far.
I was there! I even had a Buffistas.org support sign! It was cool! I heart exclamation points!
I liked this pic from a fan:

I forgot that was today! i'm so glad there was a good turnout. can't wait to see all the pics.
Today was cool but I fear we've taken this whole "theme day" on the picket lines a little too far now:
"SCENE OF THE CRIME" BICOASTAL PICKET: A special picket for writers of cop/crime shows and their stars.
PREMISE: The AMPTP and six co-conspirators have been indicted for trying to steal the Internet and misappropriate the future of writers (depending on how negotiations are going on the 18th, other charges may be added). A reading of the Bill of Indictment will take place at WB, the birthplace of the Hollywood film noir. The Indictment will then be delivered to the WB and simultaneously to the AMPTP HQ, CBS, NBC-Universal, Fox, Sony, ABC-Disney, Paramount-Viacom in Los Angeles; and in New York, to Time-Warner, News Corp, 30 Rock, CBS, Sony and ABC-Disney. The AMPTP and its accomplices will then be Encouraged to seek a plea bargain. At which point appropriate chanting and picketing will take place. An attempt will be made to wrap Crime Scene Tape completely around the studio lot.
CHANT: "A-M-P-T-P, COP A PLEA!"
It's a madhouse! A madhouse!
