[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls, The Inside and Drive), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath.

I'm wondering if we'll see the likes of The Inside and Wonderfalls sold online in this new fancy Fox Direct2Drive movie and TV initiative.

"Don' be e-scared"

How cool are those fan videos? I love that.

Okay, so for those who care about such things, looks I'm going to be at the Worldcon in Anaheim on these dates for these panels:

Wed 8/23 4:00 PM Title: WHY DOESN'T SF SEEM TO LAST ON TV?

Sat 8/26 2:30 PM Title: RUNNING TV SHOWS

Sat 8/26 5:30 PM Title: CRAFTING THE WHEDON-VERSE

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Is the pilot for Drive all finished and stuff?

Can I see it?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

No.

Behave.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Ooh, Tim at WorldCon! I just hope that the two of the panels I'll be on-site for don't conflict with other stuff I want to/have to do.

(Plus, Tim and JMS and one of the Who writers at the con. Eep!)

Sorry, I'm just anticipatory.

Oh, which one? Not that I really kept track of the Who writers beyond Russell T. Davies and wossname who wrote the "The Empty Child"/"The Doctor Dances." Steven Moffat!

The pilot is done-ish (the network delivery version). I'll let ya know when I know anything that's fit for publication.

Cool! The script was a great read. I enjoyed the colorful stage directions. Or...what do you call them in teleplays? Some of them were character notes, but others were describing the camera and the way we, the audience, were seeing (and interpreting) things.

I wonder which version you read, Polter-Cow. Not that it changed that much as we went. Those are called stage directions, screen direction or just plain prose.

The four minutes on the road early in the piece -- one continuous shot which goes from car-to-car -- was about a million dollars. Not that anyone will notice, the Zoic fx are that good.

I'm not sure. I will take this part out as soon as you see it, but I got it from a friend of mine at CAA about three weeks ago.

Awesome. As I was reading, I thought, "Shit, this is going to be hard to film."
