Illyria: We cling to what is gone. Is there anything in this life but grief? Wesley: There's love. There's hope...for some. There's hope that you'll find something worthy...that your life will lead you to some joy...that after everything...you can still be surprised. Illyria: Is that enough? Is that enough to live on?

[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls, The Inside and Drive), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath.

Never fall in love with somebody you actually love.

and of course, who says that the race ends at the end of Season 1?

Tim said the other day in the Reuters article the race doesn't end during the first season (meaning 13 episodes, they say, rather than the 6 episode first season we have now).

Here's the thing: who's to say there's only one race at one time? Couldn't there be multiple races with directly conflicting goals (to get to the finish lines)? Which sets the characters up against each other for personal reasons?

There's a lot of running with the premise, because it's so broad. I can think of a lot of things you can do with it. And if it gets boring, you can shake it up any time you want. As long as the writers don't box themselves into a hatch corner it's all good.

This is what I get for deciding not to wake up and go out into the world for coffee.

Is that Danny Bonaduce in that second photo? Or am I in need of caffeine?

And why does J.D. look like Crispin Glover in the third picture?

ETA: Ahhh. Just caught the report on Whedonesque and it was Bonaduce. Good to know I'm not conjuring him up in my brain for no reason at all.

What is even happening?

Good to know I'm not conjuring him up in my brain for no reason at all.
Yeah, because...well just yeah.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I'd have never thought I'd watch a story about a fucked up guy who's clawing his way to the top, sleeps in a box, is generally an ass, but I'm so madly in love with Profit, I'm beside myself.

Heh, see I don't think Profit could have been more tailer-made for me if they'd called it The Show Made Especially For Jess So She Will Learn The Pain Of Falling In Love With A Show That Fox Will Cancel After Only Four Eps Die Fox Die Die Die You Profit-Cancelling Bastards.

(Also, I lurve the premise of Drive. It's no accident that I'm missing this week's TAR to watch the premiere.)

Monique, secret confession, I kinda love Danny Bonaduce.

No worries. I won't tell anyone.

Personally, I find him kind of manic, but I don't really mind him. It just seemed like a random thing to be seeing at 8 in the morning. I feel much better now that I know it really was him, and I wasn't projecting some sort of latent Bondaduce thoughts out into the world on a whim.

Cause that would be a sign of an id gone amuck. He is manic, but I liked him when he was a radio guy here a few years ago.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

OMG! Drive is ALMOST HERE.

I'm a little excited.

Polter Cow is me. I don't think I've been this excited about a show... ever. I'm not sure why, but I am.
