Huh. I totally blocked that part out. My mind works in mysterious ways.
Also, I see that the new one has now hit that online place with the video clips.

The promo = good. In fact, it's a little great.
"Fox breaks the mold again...With a revolutionary new series...""And then cancels it."
"And then cancels it."
OK, I totally get that Fox doesn't have the best track record. But I feel like people are putting carts before horses. It just seems like talking about cancellations two months before the show airs is putting a bad energy out there.
Not trying to play thread dictator. Just wondering out loud about such things.
Point taken.
Which, actually, was why I used the quotes. Should have been more specific, it just followed in my head in the whole announcer voice.
I'm kinda tired of shows I like coming on the air for a nanosecond and then going away. And Tim tends to make shows I like.
If I have the power to "put out bad energy" about a show and undermine its survival just by voicing worry about its prospects here, I propose the creation of an "OMG! WHAT WILL WE DO IF ABC CANCELS ACCORDING TO JIM?!?" thread.
I've seen it other places as well. I just finally wondered out loud because I knew you guys would accept the comment at face value, and I wouldn't get into a fight over free speech or whatnot over the Internet.
I'm rather optimistic about the chances for TV's hit Drive. Perhaps I'm being Sally Sunshine, but promos have aired four times, right? Three times during the top-ranked show for the past two or three years, and another time during the 2006 Emmy winner for best drama series. I think these are good signs.
Monique, I would agree that they're definitely putting more advertising dollars behind TV's hit Drive. And if they're breaking the mold, then they would need to NOT cancel it at all!
Also, I second the idea of a vibing thread to cancel some choice candidates. (AI, I'm definitely looking at you.)

Seconded!

I actually do to, this time around, because the signs are good. The time slot is one opposite Howie Mandel's game show and two CBS sitcoms (and much as I adore AH, even I was watching HIMYM I would be watching DRIVE instead when it comes on), so it doesn't really have competition in the drama stakes, and that, plus the early ads popping up during their big shows is a better sign for a Tim show than I've ever seen before (whereas before it looked like Cigarette Smoking Guy had it in for Tim the way he did for the Buffallo Bills).
Once the debut date and time slot for THE INSIDE were announced, I had a bad feeling that what was going to happen is exactly what ended up happening, despite some strong words of support from the network. I'm not getting that negative vibe this time around from FOX's actions.
