The father of the cute little baby twins in my life is a bio-statictician math dude and I bet he'd LOVE to read that!

For most people who have (or soon will have!) twins in their lives, I recommend a book by Nancy Segal, “Entwined lives: Twins and what they tell us about human behavior.” Nancy is a twin researcher, but she’s also a twin, so she decided to write this book for a general audience.

People like me and bio-statistician math dudes use the twins as a convenient way to learn about other things. It’s easiser for us if we can assume that twins are not different from anyone else, so we tend to ignore what is special about growing up as a twin. Nancy keeps us honest.

Speaking of...I sure could take looking at those fantabulous babies, today.

Hey! I posted a link in here just a little while ago!

What is even happening?

I don't know how I missed that, before. Now I have to figure out how to untap my foot, after I stop being DEDDED by Thing One and Thing Two. Oh my. I particularly love the second picture of you holding Thing One up.

We are both very cute! I have some pictures from NY day at their new house I have to put up. However, I don't think I quite captured how very adorkable Jack was when he realized that he had his very own ceiling fan in his very own home! utterly enraptured with the glee.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Okay, the Thing babies are very cute.

But I still believe in non-icky sibling kissage.

I believe in it too, and I see quite a lot of sibling kissage these days.

Yeah me too. Though it's about 95% Emmett kissing Matilda. And 5% Matilda licking Emmett's shoulder. (In a non-icky, though damp, way.)

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

I still kiss my brothers, and Jason's sisters too, for good measure. Mostly on the cheek, but a peck on the lips is not out of the question.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Fraternal twins are in separate sacs, but aren't identical twins in the same one?

Babies kissing in utero is terribly sweet.

Unless they're really just hungry.

Fraternal twins are in separate sacs, but aren't identical twins in the same one?

Some are, some aren't. This turns out to be very good for twin researchers, because many physicians believe that all identical twins are monochorionic, and they announce to the parents with authority that the twins are fraternal. That way we get to compare identical twins whose parents think that they are fraternal to identical twins whose parents think that they are identical.

Monique, you forgot to add the Hot Wheels. Finger puppets and hot wheels.

Fraternal twins are in separate sacs, but aren't identical twins in the same one?

Not necessarily. Many monozygotic twins are not monoamniotic. Though all monoamniotic are monozygotic. You can have monozygotic twins in separate amniotic sacs with one placenta. Or you can have monozygotic twins with the exact same set up as fraternal twins.

eta: Tom, I meant to say something about Dean and Logan but then I got all confused. What if they are boys? I could totally name them Dean and Logan. Even though I don't watch SPN. But that would be funny. Even funnier if they were girls!
