Topic!Cindy - Josh Whedon!
Right, but you can hear the difference between
Josh Whedon
and
Joss Whedon,
if you listen. And maybe that's my point you see. I'm going to over explain though, because it's my gift, and my daughter's finishing up her homework (EXTRA LATE) which is delaying the bedtime of all three kids, and it's re-run season.
Damn,
is pronounced
dam,
which I only mention, because
gorram(n)
is a corruption of
goddamn.
(In other words, the
N
isn't audible, is it?)
Truth to tell, I'm not all that fond of the folksy talk even when used by the actor in question outside his role, and I think he's at least put in enough time using it that it's almost a picked-up regional accent instead of an affectation.
I don't think I liked
gorram(n)
when the show was on the air, but there was so little of the poor show, the slanguage never twigs me, now.
I know how much you love Firefly fans.
Well, it's less the show than the fannishness, to be ever-so-slightly-fair. At this point I hate Farscape fans much more, and I actually liked that show.
If they use words like "gorram" on your boards, immediately ban.
I should ask Glark if he can still do those auto-replace things. And set it so "Gorram," "frakking," and "frelling" would all be replaced with "marvelous."
I will take a short break from making it All About Me and say: speaking of sending things to ita... hey, do optical-illusion-y things trigger your migraines? Or trigger anything else unpleasant, for that matter? 'Cause there was a cute thing, but it was kinda eye-bendy, so I wavered.
And now back to How Tim Makes My Life So Hard, AKA "Strega whines about everything."
This is a
good
topic. I encourage everyone to play.
do optical-illusion-y things trigger your migraines? Or trigger anything else unpleasant, for that matter?
No, they do not. As long as they don't move and make noise, that is.
Cool.
Well... it moves a little. Sort of. That's the illusion-y part. It looks as if it is moving. But it is definitely totally silent. And odorless!

Okay, after Natter and the bodyshave commercial dude...
While we're continuing to not talk about the thing we've never talked about, does anyone have any insight to offer, on why I've been listening to The Cure?
Your parents don't understand you?
See, that's what Scott said. Well, he said that I'm rebelling against my sheltered, middle-class suburban upbringing, but he meant it the same way.
Maybe I can blame your tag, Cass. I mean, your tag is The Sundays, but it brings me back to the general era. Ah well, at least I don't have to turn The Cure off when the children are around, the way I do when I get stuck in a Violent Femmes groove (who could do with a little frak).
The Cure are sort of nice in the winter. You can indulge in all the moroseness that you stifle because you're supposed to be cheery for the holidays, maybe?
You should listen to Kenickie! So I can share my exciting new obsession... with a band from the late 90s.
Shuddup.
