The Cure are sort of nice in the winter. You can indulge in all the moroseness that you stifle because you're supposed to be cheery for the holidays, maybe?

You should listen to Kenickie! So I can share my exciting new obsession... with a band from the late 90s.

Shuddup.

Great, now I've got Jeff Conaway in my head.

Though, at least, it's Grease-era Jeff and not stoned-on-benadryl Jeff.

What is even happening?

Kenickie? I don't remember them. My three children were born between '96 and 2000. I'm just coming out of the fog, now. Sort of.

Great, now I've got Jeff Conaway in my head.

Ah, see now, my thoughts went to Bronze things (things of Bronze).

They were part of the Britpop scene, but I dunno if they got much notice over here; I'd never heard of them till recently. Comics teach me things!

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Maybe I can blame your tag, Cass. I mean, your tag is The Sundays, but it brings me back to the general era.
Gotta blame it on something
Whatever you do don't put the blame on you me
Blame it on the rain

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Strega, what do they sound like? Which albums are worth picking up?

Strega - Dec 13, 2006 6:22:45 pm PST #2251 of 10001

I am awful at describing music. Um. Guitar-heavy not-quite riot-grrl pop. With a fair amount of wit. If you have iTunes and can do the preview thing, they have an album there, "At The Club." That's all I know beyond what I read in Phonogram. Where they are as gods (perhaps literally), so that's why I had to check 'em out.

"In Your Car" and "Come Out 2 Nite" are, AFAIK, their big hits. Right now I am overly fond of "Classy" and "Spies." "Montrose Gimps It Up For Charity" is also amusing since it's a live recording and you can hear the lead singer (and the audience) giggling a lot.

The popishness means that on the first listen, I thought, "Yeah, that's okay" and I'd listen while doing other things, and then at work the next day I'd have one of their songs in my head for hours. Infectious.

"Come Out 2 Nite"

...aaaaand now I'm earwormed with "Hey, Deenie."

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Well, it's less the show than the fannishness, to be ever-so-slightly-fair.

Oh, I knew that.

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

Hee. (My reaction was "HOLY MOTHERFUCKING FUCK FUCK BANANAS.")

See, I reserve that sort of reaction for news like Firefly somehow managing to be ressurected again.

I think he's an awesome person and actor, but him getting work seems more like something happening as it should, rather than a surprise. If that makes any sense.

ETA: Basically, my reaction is along the lines of "Of course Tim hired him. He's awesome and Tim knows it." Or something.
