Spike's Bitches 30: Going on Thirteen

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

KITTIES!!!!

Apropos of kitties, sort of, I had The Blue Planet on and noticed one of the producers is named John Ruthven. I wonder if that's pronounced Rivven too, like a St. John/Sinjin thing?

And I love this motivational poster: [link]

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

I'm hungry. Will someone feed me?

I will, though you may be quite a big hungrier by the time you get here or I get there. Can you wait another 6 hours?

Mostly lurking...

Yeah, maybe not. Guess I better go find something.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Nora, are they *blind*, that they can't see, recognize, and recompense the magnificence of you? Seriously, I'm sorry about the refusal, but good for you for addressing the issue, and yes, looks like they do want you around, but the budget is the issue.

Raq, are you *blind*? Seriously, ow. And poor you. And, f'gosh sakes, be careful.

Yay on Kristin for finishing grading!

Jilli!

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

The 14th? The freakin' 22nd? Oh, my dear Lord. When do you go back to school, though, cause I start on the 14th of August, and kids start the 22nd.

And yo, that reminds me, tomorrow, I need to work on curriculum mapping. Joy.

I moved all my computer stuff back from the bedroom to the sunroom, and my back is much happier for it.

What is even happening?

Our kids are getting out the 23 (I think, whatever the Friday is of that week). We don't go back 'til after Labor Day, usually. Last September, the superintendent made noises that we'd start before Labor Day this year, but I haven't heard anything, since.

I'd rather it, this way. It seems to me that early September here is more likely to be nice than late June.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Emmett's last day is June 16th, and school starts (usually) just before Labor Day. But they also get the extra "ski week" off in February.

Thrive to spite them

Today has not been good. There was a "security incident" at work, I wore really uncomfortable shoes and was on my feet for nearly 4 hours straight. And Tropical Storm Alberto is headed this way and I just realized I don't have any food or water. So I have to go after work and buy stuff.

Raq's hair looks amazing. Nora totally deserves more money. I can't wait to see pictures of Jilli's cats (I assume there will be pictures). YAY For Kristen finishing papers.

Coding and Sleeping

Ugh, I thought things were going better marriage-wise, but I think I may have blown it. My wife was away for four days at a conference, anyhow I apparently didn't water the plants well enough so I took a lot of flak. Now it looks like I need to work late to fix a mistake I made and when I told her that I got cold rage. Looks like I'll just need to not work late and maybe I can restore things.

Last night after taking a couple of rounds of criticism, my daughter could tell I was a bit down and told me "It isn't that bad Dad". On the one had it was very sweet. On the other hand, I feel like I need to be more stoic around the kids.
