Dawn: Is that supposed to scare me? Spike: Little tremble wouldn't hurt.

Spike's Bitches 30: Going on Thirteen

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

A List is a fabulous start, trust me.
It is A Start, at least. I just underestimated things like how much laundry I really had. It's just one item on the list but it's so. much. laundry.

Go forth and pack now, Jilli. And feel free to look awfully cute while doing so, as if there were any other choice for you.

Drat, one number off of my childhood phone number.

P-C got it instead. Sigh...

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Any way I can make it up to you?

How do you feel about folding laundry?

Otherwise, it was just amusing. Like one of those random security questions on Web sites. Last four digits of first phone number...

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

God, Hil. That's horrendous.

I wonder what the chances are that -and I hate to think this- it was not fired by the IDF?

Um. Who do you think it would have been, if not them? I mean, how is this not of a piece with all the rest of the bombing of civilians and razing of refugee camps? This isn't, horrifyingly enough, wildly unusual.

You missed more Crazy Mom Stories! Apparently, if I have a girlfriend, SHE WILL DIE!

Crap, P-C. Sorry your Mom is pulling the Crazy Mom routine - my friend N, a veteran of the whole Parental Expectation thing herself, thinks your Mom is bonkers too. (Well, actually she was all 'is his mom Egyptian? Is he an Egyptian girl?')

Also, Fay, are you doing the hot air ballooning again? What hotel are you staying in? Ours had a pontoon on the Nile with a big screen that showed The Mummy. It was many levels of wonderful

Sounds fab! I'm at the Sheraton. We didn't do the balloon thing - I've done it twice, and it's of the fabulous, but it's also v. expensive and the San Francisco thing was costly so I'm trying to not totally be splurgadelic. But we watched the balloons rising from our balcony.

Fay...how are you, you foamy thing!

Good, love! And yourself?

I would like to take this opportunity to point out that Jilli looks awfully cute right now

Jilli ALWAYS looks awfully cute. It's in the Job Spec.

Meanwhile, I must thank Plei for telling me the thing about the friend saying I looked cute in the pictures. YAY for the friend! The friend ROCKS!

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Most of Alphabet City is a long hike to any subway stop, and traditionally was one of the skankiest parts of Manhattan, although that has changed a lot in the last decade.

It's also where "Rent" was set.

Of course, in the movie that put a subway station right on the edge of Tompkins Square Park. That was nice.

I lived there when it was terrifying. I don't know where poor NYU kids live now without spending money on transportation.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I mean, how is this not of a piece with all the rest of the bombing of civilians and razing of refugee camps?

Well, it happened in Gaza, post-withdrawal, and it was in a clearly defined civilian zone -- not anywhere that civilians could have been casualties of bombs meant for militants. (Also, in that link you posted, many of the months that list "no Israeli deaths" had several, or they list only one of several.)
