I just think it's rather odd that a nation that prides itself on its virility should feel compelled to strap on forty pounds of protective gear just in order to play rugby.

Spike's Bitches 30: Going on Thirteen

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

All is well that ends in pizza.

I wonder what the chances are that -and I hate to think this- it was not fired by the IDF?

ETA: Or that it's a cover story, or that we may never know the truth.

I'm tired of being cynical, can the world stop sucking for a while? Kthanks.

Our wings are not tired

Someone tell me that I don't have to work on sound cues for the next few hours. I mean, I know that I have to so that I'll be ready for tech in the morning, but I really am just beat and don't want to do this right now. I've been all over the city today and my lower back is bugging me a bit from having loaded in a big sound console earlier today. At the end of next week I'll have 8 shows running in and around LA. I think that's enough for the moment.

Sweetie, you do have to work on sound cues, I'm afraid. I'd tell you you didn't, but that would be as much as lie as someone telling me I don't have to grade these last four movie projects. But I'll come over and keep you company, okay?

And yes. Eight shows? I'd say that's plenty.

So, the show was tonight. It was mostly the class singing a variety of songs with a couple of skits thrown in. The first skit was a physical comedy thing that I can't even begin to describe, but CJ was the leader of the goofy stuff and he was a total nut. It was priceless.

The second skit was Dudley Doright/Little Nell/Snivley Whiplash. Guess which role CJ had? Yes, he was a spectacular mustache twisting bad guy. They played it as if it was a silent picture with "speech cards". He had the only spoken line - his "curses, foiled again" was comedy gold. In the skit he tied up Little Nell and had a mock fight with Dudley. Now, what are the two things he has gotten suspended for? If you answered tying up a girl when he was in first grade and fighting with a boy in third grade you would get a gold star.

The whole thing played to his natural silly self. Too bad vaudeville is dead - he would make millions.

This reminds me of what Chuck Palahniuk said at a book reading:

"Your life will never be perfect for more than...four days."

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

I am cleaning and ticking things off my list of Must Complete. I have three+ weeks of upcoming People Here so it's time to stop putting it off.

But I have A List. It's a start, yes?
