Spike's Bitches 30: Going on Thirteen

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

(I'd assumed that Avenue Q was in Brooklyn, too.)

Polter, my Hubby thinks you should tell your mom that there are several lovely Hindu girls in Utah that you could investigate. Well, they're Krishna girls, so I suppose that's different. Utah has the second largest Krishna temple outside of India and the world's largest llama herd. Why? I have no idea.

But it's good to know that I'm allergic to llamas, most people never get to find that out about themselves.

That cat person is crazy. P- C I'm so sorry you are having so much problems with your Mom. I'm glad that your uncle sees that she's over reacting, so you know it's not just you. I hope that everything works out and you can find a place to live. (And that the roommate won't be like crazy cat lady or Not!Emily...not that Not!Emily is insane like crazy cat lady but he doesn't seem like the best roommate.)

I had an interesting night. I went to a comic shop, chatted with the guy I met at the other night, and his wife whie she was there. It's too bad he's married because I could like him a lot. A lot. and there was one point during the whole "where do I know you from" bit where he said "I'd flirt with you." (sort of, if I knew you in high school that thing).

But driving home I think I figured it out. Unfortunatly. I think I met him through yahoo personals several years ago, went out with him twice, freaked out and then told him I didn't want to see him anymore over the phone. This was when Bipolar Disorder was the secret puppet master in my life.

What's the etiquette involved with that? Do I fess up or wait until he remembers. Will it be awkward?

What is even happening?

I think it will be awkward. I think I'd not mention it, but I'd try to be prepared to respond, if/when he ever brought it up.

I agree with Cindy.

I'm reading Bill Bryson's The Mother Tongue, and I'm suddenly extremely conscious about every word I'm using, and how I spell and pronounce and punctuate everything. I noticed, while writing a post in Natter, that I used "awhile" and "a while" in the same sentence, and though I think that I actually meant slightly different things by them, I'm now all "But what will people who are reading this in a few hundred years think about early 21st century American language?"

(And that "I'm now all" in that last sentence is really pinging at me now.)

However, this book has also introduced me to the name "Featherstonehaugh" -- pronounced "fanshaw" -- which is entertaining enough to offset any language self-consciousness.

Dan suggested "But I'm much better now." if it comes to that.

Not that I'm going to go into the whole bipolar was the puppet master of my life. I'll go with my stock "there was a lot going on in my life at the time" or "I was going through a rough patch"

It's both accurate and vague.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I'm thinking there's no need to explain, and vague is good if it does come up. Start the friendship from where you are now, not where you were then.

Also at the comic book store several people came in and two guys there to rent anime. One (or both) have never seen the original, untouched Star Wars movies, at least from the way they were talking.

The talk also turned to Firefly and Serenity. R (the guy I think I went out with) said that he liked the movie, except how Joss turned River into Buffy. But all three guys were discussing how Kaylee was their favorite and how hot she was, and looked much better with the weight she gained for the show vs how she looked in the movie.

Oh God.

The IDF somehow fired a shell into a Gaza picnic area, killing a family, including a bunch of little kids. The Army's official statement, so far, is that they're not quite sure how it happened -- they know they weren't aiming for a family picnic area, but they haven't yet figured out where the shell came from or how it ended up there.

This is ... just ... I have no words.
