But? There's always a but. When this is over, can we have a big 'but' moratorium?

Thrive to spite them

I just got back from the belly dance Meet up. It was cool and I met new people, one of them works in a comic book store and now has enticed me back ( I havent' bought any in awhile) he's going to show me 2 series he was talking about and also he had several recommendations for anime I might like.

I'm really proud of myself because I'm being social and stuff!

Finally, I got my hair cut this week but I'm not 100% happy with it, I want to go back to spiky I think. But I'm thinking about maybe getting it cut more like this - [link] - the next time I get it cut.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

She now as to wear tweed ALL THE TIME.

With elbow patches.

Ask her what she wore to the exam, though. Decidedly UN-academic, IMO.

Congrats, Hil! We knew you could do it! Well, I did. I have it on some authority that some people around here...maybe didn't.

Ok, by "some authority" I mean randomly edited together words from Sports Center. Let met tell you, "Buffistas" was a hard series of syllables to get together.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Dave just helped me put together my new bookcase and by helped I mean, did most of the work while I sat there trying to look useful. I think I am too achy right now to put books in it though. It is going to be a pain trying to get this place in shape before my little gathering for Tal tomorrow, especially since I have a dentist appointment in RI tomorrow. I am dreading the dentist appointment. I haven't been in forever, and I am sure I have at least one cavity.

move out and draw fire

Yay Hil! Not a surprising outcome, but congrats.

I adore the boxed milk. It's great for coffee. Hard to find though

(laughs a little desperately) Greece is the first place I've lived overseas where they've had fresh milk. Normally it's all shelf-stable or powder. I hate powdered milk.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Raq, Is the shelf-stable stuff like the boxed milk or different?

I don't think I want to live in a fresh dairy free world. It's just wrong.

AAAAARGH.

The woman at United's phone reservations was making me CRAZY. I was *hoping* she would actually be *helpful*, but nooooooo---she had no idea what she was talking about.

See, United is all sold out of cheap frequent flier mile seats to Toronto. But USAir and Air Canada (partners of United) aren't. So I call up United to use my miles (can't book partners on the web). And she? Has no idea what she's talking about. USELESS.

Apparently if I had Air Canada miles (according to their website booking thingie) I could get the trip for 22.5K. But according to United lady, I can't. Because that's not what United charges. Even though it's not their flight. WTF?

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Huh. So Cold Stone turned out to be closed, so there was no actual dessert to be had. But we wandered around San Mateo for over an hour.

And...that was it. I didn't try to make any overt moves because I'm not like that, but I didn't get any signals like I did last time. So it appears I angsted over nothing.

I am simultaneously relieved and bummed. Because while it does seem I don't have to worry about her wanting to date me...I would not have been averse to more smoochies. Fie on you women and your crazy mixed-up ways.

Calling airlines seems to be an exercise in futility. Always is for me at least...

Fie on you women and your crazy mixed-up ways.
But we're pretty. And soft. And we smell nummy. You expect more than this?

Yes, I expect you to kiss me and make me feel worth kissing.
