I knew. It's spread everywhere, blogs not LJ based, websites complaining, men with icons showing pictures of their naked nipples and saying it's LJ approved.

According to LJ, the TOS was that no indecent or offensive pictures be used; they added to the FAQ that meant excessively sexual pictures used as default. The current rule has been clarifed to say that no nipple or areolae can be visible. So then it turned into a thing where LJ was discriminating against women who have larger nipples than others (and so possibly a racial issue). It's "only" default pictures. Another bone of contention.

Also, it all started because a guy who was warned for bad behavior spammed LJ abuse with complaints of about 30 women who had those icons in order to stir up this storm. Seems he targeted them specifically because he expected them to be all warriors in arms about it. There have been a number of women suspended since it all started.

Now, I know I'm not a mother or anything, but how in hell can a picture of feeding a child be considered sexual? And no nipple? I assume that means no icons of paintings or sculptures too?

That is whole heap of grey area they are playing with there.
