I'm fairly certain I said no interruptions.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Happy Birthday, Betsy!

David, I don't know what to make of the news of your weaselly ex-boss -- except that somehow it makes her seem even weasellier.

I'm ambivalent. I know she was looking since she got overruled on hiring my minion. So it kind of sucked (for her) to have to sit in on firing me and lying to my face. OTOH, she could've fuckin' fought for a better severence for me at least.

I was interviewed by the unemployment office on Friday.

"So what was the incident that caused you to be fired."
"There was no incident. I wasn't warned and hadn't had any meetings with them regarding my performance. Nothing."
::pause:: "Well, you know the burden of proof is on them..."

It was like she was hinting for me to file a wrongful termination suit.

Oh well.

Back from baseball. We lost. Played rather flat. Emmett had a blah day at the plate, but was excellent once again catching, doing everything to stop passed balls and stopping their baserunners. He's kind of getting off to a slow start again, but he has impressed the other coaches with his catching, which is more important at Triple A.

We turned our first double play of the season today! Nice and clean, force at third then force at second.

We've got another game tomorrow, and he'll probably get a chance to pitch again.

Emmett's reading his bound volumes of Calvin & Hobbes and JZ is off getting the greek dip ingredients.

Did she love it, Perkins?

I think so. She ate the whole thing.

ION, each and every pair of shoes I've decided to keep (I jettisoned a few more pairs today) now has a place in the closet. It was a near thing though, and I'm not allowed to buy any more unless I can get rid of a pair as well.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Tomorrow's kinda packed with stuff. I'll call you Monday from work. Since my officemate is out all week, I'll actually be able to talk freely. Yay! Also, have a great night with Dave and Too Much Wine.

K. I'll be expecting the call.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Whoa. A place for every shoe and every shoe in it's place? I'm extremely impressed.

I love a nice clean double play. That's good to hear about.

Well, I'm pretty sure it won't last very long, but for now, it's cool.

I've been feeling oddly productive tonight. I've even put all of the dishes that were in the dishwasher away, and done the stuff that I needed to clean by hand.

Now, however, I am drinking a gimlet (thanks to Vortex), and watching Hustle and Flow.

It's nice to see some brave pretenders trying to make it interesting.

I am watching this week's Dr Who. It's my second episode, and I'm thinking it's not really for me. But I'm giving it a shot. The Doctor's voice reminds me so much of my friend who lives in Salford, it's eerie.

All is well that ends in pizza.

The new UK episode, or the "New to the US" episode?

move out and draw fire

It's Betsy's birthday? Sweet! HB, BHP!

I know she was looking since she got overruled on hiring my minion. So it kind of sucked (for her) to have to sit in on firing me and lying to my face. OTOH, she could've fuckin' fought for a better severence for me at least.

Wrod. But participating in that nasty firing still puts her picture under "Weaselly" for me.

Why don't I ever get to wrongfully terminate people? OK, partially it's because most of the people I think should be let go are above me in the management chain, but I still think they should be let go, as they just aren't working out.
