I said I'm sorry. I've made mistakes, but fear was never one of them.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"I've got a gun! I've got a mother-flippin' gun!" - Moss, The IT Crowd

Then again - having my MiL in the same area code? Eh.

Not just that, she'd be your boss. Still, it sounds like a good deal.

Oooh, Michigan! Ann Arbor would be a good place for a midwest F2F. IJS.

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

Always one hell of a risk in joining a startup. And most of those risks are out of your control; your writing skill and Joe's are high, but that has little to do with the paper's ability to attract readers, or advertisers to sell them to. The majority of startups do fail.

Not saying not to do it; just have eyes wide open about the risks.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Nope - I'd be running the accounting end - until I finished my degree, which I told her. Joe ould be writing. He'd be an associate editor.

And thanks for the vote of confidence in my writing talents, Steph!! And Typo!

::warm and fuzzy now::

AND - she wouldn't be my boss! She was VERY quick to point that out. Well done her.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Aimee, that sounds like an interesting offer. Good luck in making your decision.

Ack. MIL as boss and startup anxiety? Eek. OTOH, I know you want to move back to Michigan. But....danger, if both of you are working there, if it goes under. Good luck!!

What is even happening?

You could supplement the income change with a weekly column about working with your spouse, for your mother-in-law, in her neck of the woods.

They'll call it Ex In the City, someday.

(just kidding--it all sounds very exciting)

Dear Jilli,

I don't whether to thank you or glare at you for linking to the Fairy Gothmother website. I now have to convert pounds sterling to dollars, have a heart attack, and then save my pennies for next year's Prom outfit.

Ta ever so. Kinda.

Love, The Empress
