Spike's Bitches 30: Going on Thirteen

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Is that bugging him enough, Andi? I can resort to email if necessary!

Well, he's at work now, so even if he wants to, he can't do much about posting the pics. I'd say, wait till tomorrow and then taunt him.

Embrace the idea that we are the leaders we've been looking for. Grace Lee Boggs

Silly details like facts. I shall wait for the taunting, and will attempt to remember to taunt tomorrow despite my sieve-like brain. Hopefully, pictures this evening will make taunting (and the memory required for said taunting) unnecessary.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Speaking of which, how is the sciatica?

I have a sacral bone out of place and I have a hernaiated disc between the L4 & L5 vertibra. As well as some issues in the thoracic vertibra. Tons of fun. I get to go see a ortho/neuro specialist in a few weeks. It's fun when the doctor looks at the MRI report and says, "Wow. You're younger than I am with a back like this? Were you ever in an accident?" *sigh* The good thing is that she whipped out her prescription pad and I've got some good painkillers and some flexeril.

DH is joking that I'm waaaay out of my warranty period. I told him it's not the age, it's the mileage.

I've treated myself to some Burt's Bees lipgloss. And a peanut butter wafer cookie.

Aimee, I always felt weird the first day of any class. Those first day jitters will go away. If you knew everything they were talking about already, you wouldn't need the class, right?

{{{Cashmere}}} No wonder you have been in so much pain. I am glad you finally have some meds to help with it.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Eep, Cashmere, glad to hear the drugs are good, at least. I hope the time until you see the specialist is quite bearable and passes quickly, and that the time after is full of quick, easy and effective treatment.

Aimee, I wish I had you as a student -- you'd understand when I was snarking, snark back and laugh appropriately. I never have enough students that do.

My DH, btw, upon leaving Deb's yesterday afternoon said, "That really is one cute kid," about your Em. His compliments about kids should not be taken lightly, as the last picture Jeff opened of the four children fathered by one of his best friends from college got this reaction, "Wow, none of them are ever going to win any beauty contests."

Memememe (sort of) bragging: My 9 year old niece placed 4th in the beginner category at the Topanga Canyon fiddle contest. My 13 year old nephew placed 1st in the intermediate competition (he won the beginner last year), and my BiL came in 1st for his back-up guitar work for his children (second year in a row).

Teacup Guy's meeting is running extra long this week. Poor thing, he must be starving. I made a frittata about a half hour ago, and I just gave up on him getting home and put it in the fridge.

That's so cool.

Has anyone else here ever watched Honey, We're Killing the Kids? I just watched it, and frankly, I'm horrified. I'm absolutely fine with the "kids (and adults) should eat healthy foods and be active" messages, but the ways that they're getting these parents to enforce that stuff is really horrible.
