Spike's Bitches 30: Going on Thirteen

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Ka-Gronk. I have coffees. I wish I could've slept longer but my body said basta and now I'm face first into a tiki mug of latte.

Emmett's team won their game yesterday. I arrived several innings in because I was lunching with Scola and Cass. As I got there Emmett was starting the 3rd. "How're we doing," I asked, Chris. "We're down 3-2. Emmett pitched us out of a jam in the second, coming in with two men on and one out and striking out the next two batters." Eliott nodded, "Emmett was HUGE."

Close fought game, where we got all the way to 6-2 down. Then came back and tied it on a big inning, topped with Eian's second massive home run of the season. We pushed across one extra run in the last, and then held on to beat them. Reed got pissed by a call in the field and starting pumping fastballs by them. Pure vapor trails. 7-6 win and well-played. Joaquin made a running, shoe-top save in the left-field. Outfield executed a perfect cut-off to keep their best player from scoring.

Very gratifying to see all the players hitting and actually doing what we've been coaching them to do all year.

Prom was so fun last night. Everybody was having a blast.

We toasted Deb's hard work and JZ gave her a little blue book about roses written and signed by Peter Straub.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I'm going to look up times to go see The DaVinci Code sometime this afternoon.

Mom, stepdad, Dave, and I saw it yesterday after the party, and we all enjoyed it.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Harvey served an eviction notice today. Friday while I was mowing the back yard, I discovered a rabbit hole. Daniel tells me he has had to fill in rabbit holes before, usually closer to where the vegetable garden is. We have observed a rabbit happily hopping about the back yard, driving the cats crazy. There is a tone of meowing that I have come to recongnize as meaning, "Dammit, there's a rabbit in MY yard, the people aren't letting me have snacks whenever I want, and I'm frickin' stuck in the house." Today we took Harvey out on his new, tougher lead, with new, tougher hardware that we could hook to the clothes line and let him roam over most of the back yard while we worked on planting the tomatoes we bought yesterday. Harvey was able to reach the rabbit hole with the lead. He could, and did. And when he did, he squatted right over it, and peed. Daniel says that from the looks of things, that hole is their front door. He wants to give them a couple days to find new digs before filling the hole in, hoping that the predator that just scent-marked their front door will be warning enough. Neither of us want to kill the rabbit(s). We just don't want to feed them more of our vegetables than we get to eat.

My weekend was faaaaaaaaabulous. I am not at all jealous of the F2Fers, because they missed out on MY weekend, and should be jealous of ME. :)

The show on Friday night went swimmingly (thank god!) and Saturday night's performance was great, and I had people who had no reason to do so tell me I was very sexy (ie, people who have girlfriends and do not intend to make out with me). Also met lots of new people (including adorable adorable baby kings from Vancouver, who were great dancers) and made a new friend in Toronto, and might just have to go there for their Pride. And Friday and Saturday night, I went to bed about 6AM. :) And today was brunch and we all watched most of the Friday show on tape, and everyone was complimenting everyone else, and it was awesome.

And any moment, I will crash HARD.

Last time I caught Eurovision was with K, God of Gay

Fay! How is K? Is he staying in Cairo? (Also, Eurovision sounds like fabulously trashy fun)

Congratulations on graduating, SA!

Emmett picked up Emeline and very carefully carried her off.

Awww. So cute!

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Gronk.

You know, the worst part about having a baby who is sick over the weekend is that if you need to have them checked (her temp spiked to Really Quite Insanely High last night, and she'd been puking) to rule out things like ear infections, you have to go to the ER.

Where you will sit for nine million years, because it's a Saturday night, and there are children who have been busy splitting open their chins and having asthma issues and breaking limbs and your kid's floppy, but not in need of immediate attention.

I would like a do-over of this whole last week, please.

{{{Plei}}} How is Lily feeling now?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I would like a do-over of this whole last week, please.

How about just amnesia? I had a sucky week (but not sick-baby-ER sucky--ow!) and really don't think I could do it again much better. It should just be erased as I propel myself forwards.

What is even happening?

Oh, Plei. How's the baby, now? What did the ER say?

Embrace the idea that we are the leaders we've been looking for. Grace Lee Boggs

Am ded of teh cute. Ellie is just adorable!

Andi, your setup for Harvey sounds fantabulous and I am terribly jealous. I could do something like that here, but while it might keep the eagles from carrying off the cats, I don't think it would keep the eagles from killing them.

Much health ~ma and dealing ~ma to Plei, Lily and ita. Is Lily doing any better?
