Spike's Bitches 30: Going on Thirteen

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Woot! Le cool, Kristin!

I wish I could just go somewhere to get flensed but none of the whaling ships near me take Medicare.

I did much skipping and skimming.

Happy Birthday, Vortex! I'm sorry to hear about bad backs, lost luggage, deadbeat ummfriends, etc. I wish all the Bitches what they richly deserve. You know, good things.

I'm already an hour late for the bed time I should have so I better put myself down.

And welcome back, libkitty!

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

And you'll be lounging around in bikinis whenver possible I take it?

Kristin, the last email I got from you was on May 5.

The status is NOT quo.

Trudy, weird. I sent you one on the 9th and another one on the 14th. I'll try re-sending. Same email, right?

The status is NOT quo.

Cereal:

Resent. My mac account is fine in receiving but seems to be flaky in sending. The emails likely will come from the yahoo account.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Kristin, that's weird, but kind of nifty.

I just discovered I am out of eyeliner and mascara. What's good that can be bought at Target?

Max Factor mascaras are generally pretty good. I like their 2000 Calorie Mascara, and have been using it off and on for over a decade. Eyeliner, I'd probably go Revlon, but it's been so long since I used a pencil that I'm pulling that one out of my rear. Allyson likes the purple liquid Wet n' Wild, and I had decent luck with it, so there's that option.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

So apparently our ancestors were human chimp hybrids. The real humans died out. Y'know, that explains a lot.

t Just to be clear: I'm not accidentally distorting the meaning of that story. I'm doing it on purpose.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

First thing you do, vw, is relax.

When I was temping at an apartment complex, the maintenance man there told me that everyone gets cockroaches , from the saddest little shack on up to the White House. The difference between an infestation and a clean, healthy environment is in how well controlled the nasty things are. Another apartment in your building may be poorly controlled, and things are spreading from there. Or it could have hitched a ride in on someone's bag, from a place - like a friend's home, or a grocery store - where there were a lot of them.

Not sure if you want to call the landlord about this - probably you do. But they may not be the least bit helpful. All foods must be stored in the fridge or in in air-tight containers. Sweep up after every meal, rinse dishes well if they are not going to be washed right away. I've had good luck with roach motels , but if you think Toto or Bastet would mess with them it might be better to find another method. It's been a good ten years since I did this, so there may be updated information - I called Poison Control to ask them for guidance with roach control methods that would not poison my cat. The woman I talked to thought it was nifty I'd called for prevention information. One thing I remember is that while boric acid may be toxic if eaten, it actually takes a fairly hefty dose - don't remember exactly how much, but more than I could imagine a cat eating - before it would cause problems.

Posting this now, then I'll start Googling for more details.
