Spike's Bitches 30: Going on Thirteen

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Well, the sad thing is, I didn't get to finish, because it started raining. Electric mower? Rain? Two words: Nuh and Uh.

Embrace the idea that we are the leaders we've been looking for. Grace Lee Boggs

I started to read to catch up. I made it through a couple of pages. But then I just couldn't stand it any more, and I skipped a little over 4000 posts. On the bright side, my oh-my-goodness-gracious-I-can't-believe-how-busy-I-am-month may actually be over, and I look forward to the possibility of becoming human again. And to reading b.org again!!

That said, I have to run to a meeting, but I feel like it may actually be possible for me to read and post for at least two whole days in a row!

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

My make up samples came today. They are very pretty. Does anyone have any advice on applying them.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

Mine arrived too - but I don't have time to play with them. I would think a make-up brush would be the best way to apply.

All is well that ends in pizza.

Anyone want to move next door to us?

Lawn repair a must. (There's no driveway, so the current owners made their own...what a mess.)

If you look beyond the "driveway" you'll see our white minivan parked in our yard which is sideways to their lot.

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

That's a lot of money for such a tiny place. Especially one with the description "Charming home w/ tons of potential...A little elbow grease & you're good to go." That's really code for "Best improved with a match," right?

And I think their addition is off on the square footage.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Dammit! Peregrine falcon, right outside my window, looks like he's going into a stoop. And then he disappears below my level of vision and I can't see what happened!

They taunt me!

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Drive by to wish the Zmayhems a happy anniversary!

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

My make up samples came today. They are very pretty. Does anyone have any advice on applying them.

Get a flocked sponge (Walgreens has them) or a Kabuki brush (weirdly, the Target house brand "bronzer" brush is pretty good, considering it's under $5). I've also used a regular foundation brush and a blush brush, but find that the sponge works best for me, with the brush second best.

There are many sites with application suggestions, and Alima's own looks pretty good: [link]

My method is to tip a small amount of minerals into the lid or a dish, and to press the flocked sponge into the powder, folding the sponge aronud the minerals and sort of squishing them in. I then start applying in short, downward strokes near my jawline, working my way up and towards the middle of my face. Always start with less than you think you'll need.
