Whatever happened to the still beating heart of a virgin? No one has any standards anymore.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Mostly lurking...

Ugh. Nora, I hope things are looking better this morning.

I am currently writing a "response" e-mail to my parents about the negotiation phase we're in. I'm afraid this isn't going to be pretty.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Next question in assembling my nefarious plan: how hard is it to get to San Jose airport from SF? Flights to Portland are cheaper from San Jose.

Billytea, it is fairly easy. Caltrain runs between the two cities, and there is a free shuttle that runs between the Santa Clara Caltrain station and the San Jose airport. From the Caltrain FAQ, [link]

10. At what Caltrain station can I connect to San Jose Airport?
VTA SJC Airport Flyer (Route 10) takes you between the Santa Clara Caltrain Station and the San Jose International Airport. The Airport Flyer is free and operates seven-days-a week from 5:30 a.m. until midnight. Buses operate every 10 minutes on weekdays and every 15 minutes on weekends.

All is well that ends in pizza.

Headline:

Gas Clouds Shoot Down Indonesia Volcano

My first thought: "It was flying?"

Then I pictured a gas cloud firing missiles at the volcano.

Clearly I need more sleep, not four more days of work after the last five in a row.

What is even happening?

Nora, since there are only the two units in your building, I don't know how the building is owned. Do you and the other owners have full ownership and/or do all the management yourselves, or is there an owner of the building, too? If there is some sort of other owner (of the building) or a management company, I think you'll want to get them involved.

Regardless, if your flooding is because of the water table, I really think you're going to need a sump pump. You can get one at Home Depot or Lowe's, and they can probably explain how to hook it up, and what to do.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Oh, and Cincy.

Woot!!!

I'm not missing it this time. It would take the ebola virus for me to miss this.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

we called the plumber and they got here lightning fast with a sump pump and the installation skillz to boot.

We share overall responsibility with our condo neighbors. Our cellar appears to be the lowest point, so we have most of the water. We're gonna buy the pump (just us), but we'll send the plumbers their way after the install. I think that once our cellar is cleared, their water will flow in anyway.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

It sounds like things are getting worked out, Nora - I hope so, anyway.

I am gronking a mighty gronk. Yesterday I got bit by some anonymous insect (or possibly spider ) on my cheek down by the jaw. It swelled up quite a bit, and my whole face felt huge. I slathered on some aloe gel mixed with green tea leaves for a bit of a poultice over night, and this morning applied honey to it. It feels much, much better than it last night. Still, big honking red sore on face, ick.

What is even happening?

Oh, good. You'll be glad to have the pump. You probably won't need it all that often, but the times you do, you'll find it priceless.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

My first thought: "It was flying?"

Then I pictured a gas cloud firing missiles at the volcano.

Yeah, that was my first or second reaction (I forget). In any event, I had to read the headline twice and then think about it for a bit.
