Spike's Bitches 30: Going on Thirteen

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

move out and draw fire

Huh. The school my dad taught at set up a posthumos award in his name to be given to outstanding art students (he was the art and art history department). It's not a condition of the award, but starting with the first recipient it's become tradition to for the recipients to donate a piece of art to a permanent collection in his name. Some of the students he had (prior to the award, obviously), like Luis Jimenez, have also donated works.

The school has established a permanent exhibit (The Thompson Art Award Collection), which they were going to open this weekend, but they just wrote me and said they'd heard I'd be in town and would I attend the opening, maybe say a few words?

This means I have to pack something nice to wear.

Tre cool, Raq!

There was jello. And I missed it? Dag nabbit. But I'm probably too old for jello wrestling. sigh

I'm still floating in proud mama-land. On top of K-Bug's great game last night - CJ got his picture in the local paper with a quote - "I like reading right after school so I can read and just relax". After all his stuggles in school - this was wonderful.

I need nothing else for Mother's Day. I'm set.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Aww, Suzi, that is so wonderful. You're a good mom.

I just order a ton of samples from Alima and it only cost me $32, which I can handle easily. Retail therapy complete.

How are you me? You need to stop that. Only I can be me. ~Kara

Someone who has seen me please to tell me what color foundation I should use? I'm quite pale, but with a strong red undertone, and I get blotchy easily.

JZ - May 12, 2006 6:13:31 am PDT #4285 of 10002
See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

That's completely and utterly awesome, Suzi!

I really should be in the shower already with my work outfit laid out on the bed ready for the moment I hop out, but I just have zero motivation. I'm absurdly caught up at work; there's about an hour of actual work awaiting me, and 7 hours of either nagging other people to do the stuff I asked them about months ago, mindless busywork, or picking up the clinic staff's slack and doing their work for them. Or b.org. Why can't I just go in for my hour of actual work and leave?

Sadly, there's a Staff Appreciation event at 2:00 at which it's possible I may be awarded a bonus (or at least a $10 gift certificate to See's Candy) on account of all my hard work and initiative, so today is probably not the day to say fuck it and slack out. But, really, just now I so could not possibly give a shit if I tried.

Deena is me, but add an extra undertone of yellow to the blotchy red stuff. Gah - I hate finding foundation, but love it when I find a good one.

Raq, that is awesomely cool about your dad.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

Suzi, your kids are so very cool. Unsurprising, given their momma, but still. Awesome.

Raq, that's great!

cleanup in Thread 30. I repeat, cleanup in Thread 30. We've got jello, glitter, some sort of dairy substance... Hey! What is that big block of concrete doing there? Forget it, Jerry. Let's just nuke it.
