Today's paper has a big article about Kaiser's mis-management of their fledgling kidney transplant program.
I rarely get to read the news - if I happen to be listening to the radio, or have a moment to clicksfgate.com, I'm lucky to see any news on any given day.
But I digress. Last night my mom got a call from a nurse at Kaiser assuring her that she is still on their transplant list. After a long coversation, with my mom citing all the things Kaiser has not been doing, she asked that her name be passed on to the federal investigation team. Oh boy.
Don't mess with my mom. She has her masters in Health Care Administration. She used to run the Renal Failure program at Kaiser, then ran various dialysis units before her own kidney failure.
Let's see if she ever hears from the investigators.
Oy. There's an article in the Washington Post about how some college guys are having "erectile disfunction." They quote several male students by name, and there are several people I know quoted. That was so something I didn't need to know about any of these people, especially not from a major newspaper.
That seems like a good thing to know up front. They should do those articles regularly as a public service. Dear God why DATE guys that young if they're not going to...
Um, not that I would.
Is that the article that was blaming said ED on women's (gasp!) sexual independence?
(FTR, it was the writer doing that, not the interviewees.)
Trudy, you have SUPER SEEKRIT E-MAIL.
Ok - complete different subject.
A co-worker came by my office to pick up some Giants tickets. He had his 2 year old son with him. Adorable kid. I did the usual "how old are you" and asked him about his stuffed animal. Just being friendly. The kid asks me "how do you spell red" and then he said "r-e-d". I thought - aww, how sweet. I'm wearing a red shirt, and he can spell a simple word. Then "How do you spell yellow", "How do you spell orange", "How do you spell lavender", "How do you spell TURQUOISE". And this little kid could spell all of them! I'm flabbergasted.
Sheesh, half the time
I
can't spell lavender.

I'm sure everyone's already seen it...but for those that ain't
The Vanilla Ice and Hammer parts cracked me up the most--probably because of the repressed shame of having seen Vanilla Ice open for MC Hammer. At least En Vogue was there too. I'm not embarassed about that.
