[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Drunk Meara=adorable.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Somebody take advantage of meara while she's drunk! Stat!

Back from our first official baseball game of the season. We won! Go Mets!

Emmett had a perfect day as lead-off man, getting on base every at bat and scoring 4 out of 5 times. He was excellent catching, with only one passed ball in two innings and he had to scramble for many of them.

And he had about his worst day pitching ever, which was excruciating to watch as he threw pitch after pitch into the dirt. Loaded the bases with walks. Oy. But he hung in there, made adjustments and got a couple strikeouts. I don't know what went wrong since we've mostly been having pitching sessions for the last two days and he was better than fine. Oh well, we won. We kicked serious booty on offense. Our best player, Reed, was a one-man gang, pitching two shut-out innings, making excellent plays in the field and knocking in about 7 RBIs.

Emmett and I are both drained. We've got games on Saturday and Sunday too.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

All those in favour of meara being drunk every time she posts, shake something. All those against, keep it to yourselves.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Aww. Poor emmeet.

No, he's fine. He toughed it out during his bad inning (in the first inning he pitched he got three pop-ups in the infield) and he had fun running the bases all day. The pitching problems were only really excruciating for me. He had fun.

When Emmett's pitch count was getting high (we have to monitor it this year) I asked him if he wanted to try to pitch out of his jam, and he did. And he got two strikeouts. That's pretty great after walking five guys.

Plus, he hit all day and got much praise as the catcher.
