Get up...get up, you stupid piece of... What did you do that for? What's wrong with you? Didn't you hear a word he said? All of you! You think there's someone just going to drop money on you?! Money they could use?! Well, there ain't people like that. There's just people like me.

Spike's Bitches 30: Going on Thirteen

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

What is even happening?

I vaguely remember the story, vw. Who are they, though?

Oh, Pete, poor Jilli. I just killed one in my kitchen, not 10 minutes ago.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I can totally see Laura in that dress.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

how full a skirt needed to be, to accomodate a crinoline

I think she said 100" circumference around the hem. My big deal is more, does it need it? I don't think it does, but would it look better with one? I need someone to see it on to give me good advice. I'll probably model it for her or JZ to give me an idea.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Happy Birthday, Karl!!!! I can deliver a birthday hug in person in less than 2 weeks!

but looks pretty and vaguely late summer/Halloweeny

Halloweenie is good. You betcha.

Is it feasible, from a seamstress POV, to take my cherry dress and cut off the bodice and add a zipper and waistband to the skirt, to make it into just, well, a skirt?

(By "seamstress POV," I mean someone not me. I don't want to take it in with this crack-headed idea and have her laugh at me. No one likes getting mocked by a seamstress.)

Woe to the fucking wicked.

Steph, it should be possible, unless (and possibly even if), it's very oddly constructed.

Happy happy birthday, Karl! I hope you have a splendid day.

It is entirely feasable. I do it all the time, in fact.
