When making mojitos, I feel that the mint should be muddled with the sugar to create a paste. Then add rum and ice, stir with long handled spoon. What's with this soda water thing?

Mmm, mango mojito. I haven’t had one, but I like the sound of it. In my head, mojitos are mint juleps made with tequila. I know that’s wrong, but I’m not sure in how many ways it’s wrong, exactly. I should probably have a few to find out.

I looked at the mojito recipe. It seems to leave out putting the rum mixture into the glasses. Is this one of those crafty ones where you give your "friends" tall, colorful glasses of soda water over crushed ice and you consume the entire rum/mint/sugar mixture on your own?
