When making mojitos, I feel that the mint should be muddled with the sugar to create a paste. Then add rum and ice, stir with long handled spoon. What's with this soda water thing?

I looked at the mojito recipe. It seems to leave out putting the rum mixture into the glasses. Is this one of those crafty ones where you give your "friends" tall, colorful glasses of soda water over crushed ice and you consume the entire rum/mint/sugar mixture on your own?

Because... what if she answered while driving and then I didn't tell you she was on the cell while driving and then even though I yelled at her, she still kept talking and driving and one day got into an accident and when you visited her in the hospital and yelled, "I had no idea you were daring to drive and talk on your cell at the same time!", she would reply, "Nicole knew!!" And then you'd hate me.
