Thanks, Hec. I just called another friend to see if she was available. She's out with her boyfriend right now but she's going to accompany me to the Krewe function tomorrow.
And thanks for offering to be a contact. Tuesday I'll be going to my second interview at UC and I'm sure I'll have no problem getting my ass to that.
Spidra, it's just occurred to me that you may not be getting enough carbs for your system. The first time I tried a low-carb diet, I misunderstood the induction diet instructions, and ended up getting something like 4 or 5 grams of carbs total, for a few days, instead of 20g total. I got really, really run down as my body had wayyyyyy too little fuel to run on. Maybe you could increase your carbs by a serving or two, choosing whole grains or leafy greens to see if that helps your energy level.
Got it, Tep, and thanks!
Home from day 1 of K-Bug's softball tournament. They won both games - the first one was an extra inning game in which K-Bug hit the game winning run. Woooo and hooooo.
Tomorrow we get a rematch against the only team to beat us so far this season.
They are the ones who played two games - why am I so tired?
WooHoo, K-Bug!
Thanks, Andi. I wouldn't be surprised if sugar withdrawal has something to do with this (although I also had motivational problems intermittently before. It was why my shrink upped the Celexa from 20 to 40 mg. And I started getting headaches from the 40 mg. and went back down to 20.)
I'm thinking this might be a "perfect storm" of things. (1) I'm out of shape. When you get really out of shape, it's hard to get over the hump because you don't have any energy anymore. You'd feel better eventually if you exercised but in the short term you feel worse. (2) sugar withdrawal (3) a bit of depression from a personal situation. Minor, but it's there. (4) Still the very ugly reality of my living situation and how hard it is to deal with. When I was employed, I wasn't here all the time. Now I am. (5) Out of shapeness, not having CMT appointments, etc. added up to increased RSI pain, which was what initially put me in bed.
Thanks for your concern, folks. It means a lot. I'll probably go to bed in an hour or two because the Krewe thing is in the late morning in SF and also because I need to turn my hours around. I'll no doubt feel better if I make more of an effort to get out in the sunshine and take a walk. (I was up this morning and saw light through the window, but didn't go out and actually soak it up.)
Just got back from stocking up on sugar-free candies at Long's. Two of the normal things that were on my shopping list happened to be on special so they were entirely sold out, darnit. Not a big deal usually but I'm trying to save gas by not going on as many errands. Especially redundant errands like shopping at a number of different groceries. Spotted Diet Coke with Splenda. I can't figure out whether that's available everywhere now or whether we're a test market. Probably the former since they usually text products in God's Armpit, MO. I haven't made up my mind about it yet. I definitely prefer Splenda to Aspartame as a lesser of two evils. The taste is closer to regular Coke taste in that it has the sort of orange oil warmth that regular Coke classically has. But it's also got the sort of "tinny" or "hollow" taste that I associate with articificial sweeteners. All topnotes and aftertaste with no middle.
Aimee, I'm sorry for the yuck you had to go through at work. Today, I had to tell my manager that a temp we took on a couple of weeks ago just wasn't working out and we should let him go. It was depressing. I feel like I stepped on a puppy.
I'm so relieved the end of the month is over. While I like the money I get from overtime, the extra hours required are getting exhausting. At least I got my annual review (that was due back in November) today and it was quite an improvement over the previous year's. Yay.
Spidra, I'm glad you got ahold of a friend. Do you have an IM at all? A lot of us are on YahooIM or AIM and we're always glad to hop on to chat and we're always happy to help keep the boogey-man at bay.
Thanks. I'm spidraw on AIM but I usually only go on in a targeted way. Chatting is much harder on my hands than posting on a board.
Congrats on the good review!
I'm going to try putting some music on and doing some dishes.
