Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

She climbs a tree and scrapes her knee
Her dress has got a tear...

Huh, don't have to change this song at all, really.

I wish I could just go somewhere to get flensed but none of the whaling ships near me take Medicare.

but land of fresh veggies it is not.

They grow giant prize-winning pumpkins in AK at the very least. If you don't get rained out in the summer, I'd imagine the extended growing hours would allow you to grow some nice stuff.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

but land of fresh veggies it is not.

Well, we used to grow potatoes and kohlrabi (that the moose treated as their own personal buffet) and carrots and herbs, but Fairbanks gets more sun in the summer than Juneau.

Tom, I LOVE the new pictures. LOVE.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Juliana! Have a great time on the cruise, but please to answer my email about Vegas before you go.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

How do you solve a problem like an earworm?

Evil. Evil. Evil.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Wow, you've really neglected those fancy files you used to keep on us if you have to ask this. The short answer? Enough.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Gets out the red stamp
Red can be a very good color on me...

Oddly, I have what appears to be a wee hickey-like bruise in my cleavage. I don't have a clue where it came from. I have done nothing hickey-making. Or damaging. Recently. I am flummoxed.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Oh my jesus, how's this for horrifying -

From this morning's news: Back in April, a van carrying five college students was in a deadly accident near here. Three I think were killed, at least one survived. Now, six weeks later, it turns out that two of the girls were misidentified. This came to light because one of the survivors, whose family has been keeping a vigil by her hospital bed all this time, has just slowly been able to speak intelligibly - and it gradually became apparent to her family that this was not, in fact, their daughter. So their daughter was in fact buried six weeks ago by another family, while the family of the living girl has believed for all that time that their daughter was dead.

I can't even imagine how horrifically that poor girl in the hospital must be if it's only now that the family was able to determine she wasn't who they thought she was. And I can't even imagine what it must be like for that poor family.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Oh, that's so sad-making indeed.
