I wish I could just go somewhere to get flensed but none of the whaling ships near me take Medicare.

Thanks, Nilly! I love being online the same time as you. You are "da bomb", as the kids say.

And I am certain they make kosher chocolate bunnies. Just 'cause this is America.

Mr. Scola’s wardrobe by Botany 500

Furniture update: The shipper just called me to tell me he's in front of my building. They told me they were going to deliver between 12 and 3 today. I'm at work this morning.

Analysis: Why does doing something nice for myself have to suck?

If I want to become a cloud of bats, does each bat need a separate vaccination?

And I am certain they make kosher chocolate bunnies. Just 'cause this is America.

Oh yes -- the Passover/Easter overlap guarantees it.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

ION, Venture Bros. Season 1 on DVD / Season 2 starts in June (I think I saw).

Yeah!

Analysis: Why does doing something nice for myself have to suck?

It doesn't. Furniture deliveries are just a pain in the ass 8 times out of 10. Something goes awry. They're early. You're late. The couch won't fit through the hallway.

we have to eat it before the actual (meat containing) meal, due to the kosher rules.

This sounds like a kid's dream. "You have to eat your dessert before you can have dinner!"

Why does doing something nice for myself have to suck?

It doesn't suck. Delivery sucks. It's kind of a rule. Sorry bout that.

Congestion when the weather is hot also sucks. Especially since I suspect it is mild allergies + heat that is causing it. I'm told I'll have functional a/c today. I'll believe it when I feel it.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Oh yes, I got word this week that Amazon has shipped my order of Venture Brothers and Robot Chicken. Isn't that nice of them?

Why does doing something nice for myself have to suck?

So that you'd feel entitled for doing some more nice things for yourself?

Sorry it has to be so annoying. Will they arrive later, when you're out of work, on the time you agreed upon?

the Passover/Easter overlap guarantees it.

Yay!

sara, good luck with the a/c.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Hey, Nilly! Yes, the last day of school was yesterday! Very exciting.

The Bible as Lit course -- we studied the Bible os a work of literature, not as a sacred text, per se. We looked at it specifically as a collection of tales, and laws and examined it from a literary, sociological and historical POV. The prof was a very nice Jewish lady, but she made it very clear that we were NOT debating religion in this course -- we were looking at the Bible as a book, not THE Book. It was really interesting, and an excellent class.

What sarameg said, Tom. Driving people crazy by showing up at the wrong time or place or not showing up at all is part of the deliveryperson's code.

I am in full gronk mode today despite my attempts to get more sleep lately.

It looks really interesting. Did you focus on any period or character or anything like that? I mean, it has a span of thousands of years inside.
