I'll just jump in my time machine, go back to the twelfth century, and ask the vampires to postpone their ancient prophesy for a few days while you take in dinner and a show.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Argh! I just went to get my awesome new dress altered, and there's no more tailor at the dry cleaner's! What to do?!??

(Hint: the answer is not "learn to sew.")

Now I'm sweaty, but at least my cat is fed. (These things are not connected, except in that the cat food was outside, where the warm and humid are.)

If I want to become a cloud of bats, does each bat need a separate vaccination?

And none of us deserving the cruelty or the grace -- Leonard Cohen

What are you doing in Asheville?

Terry's birthday and going to Stoneleaf (a.k.a., the reason Terry's been living in Asheville for the past month). We almost had darth come with us (yay!) but he's got car troubles and has to stay here (boo!)

If you or smonster come through Nashville or Knoxville or pretty much anything near/around this state, lemme know.

Well, if you're going to move to Europe permanently, we oughta figure something out! I had a rude geography awakening last week when I realized that Nashville is actually 500 miles away from here. I had this vague sense that most things in Tennessee were, you know ::hand wave:: over there, across the mountains, not far.

Maybe we could meet in Pigeon Forge or something. I've always wanted to go to Dollywood. WHAT? Or, you know, Knoxville. It's about the same distance. Or Maggie Valley! Hmm.

Can you tell I can't wait to get a car?

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

Found out Monday night that my Dad went to the emergency room with heart trouble late Sunday afternoon. They admitted him, ran a cardio stress test, took him to surgery, did an angiogram, and put in three stents -- all in about 24 hours. He should be back home today. I am just amazed at the speed of it all.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

Remember my awesome mood from this morning?

For it, I have been rewarded with: people not doing work I need, a client wanting changes on all copy for a project due Friday, a worker who gives me at least 3 excuses everytime I find something wrong in their work, and that same worker not completing ONE SINGLE TASK that I need from them today.

GRR.

Pigeon Forge is pretty reasonable for me. We could do a weekend in Dollywood! I went there when I was a kid. It's pretty much what you'd expect a tennessee theme park in the mountains to be.

Can you tell I can't wait to get a car?

Hee. Have you started looking yet?

I've started looking. Spending $400.00 on Lulu this past weekend has set me back a bit, but I'm hoping that my friend Susannah will sell me her Subaru. Barring that, I've got my eyes open.

Cool. Good luck. Hey, did you ever get that email I sent you? Thanking you for the candle and the coffee mug (which I used this morning!)?

Heh. I've always looked longingly at the turnoff to Pigeon Forge, but never had enough time for the side trip.

sevierville, pigeon forge, and gatlinburg make for a really interesting trifecta of outlet malls, theme park, and cabins. It's a nice place to go away to for a couple days.
