The two situations aren't contradictory, JZ. ita's original question was
If I divorce the father of my kid and remarry and want my new husband to adopt, does the kid's biological father have a say? And does his status change when the adoption goes through?
If a couple is married at the time the woman has a baby, the presumption is that the husband is also the father. That's not to say that the presumption can't be overridden, or that biodad has to be married to mom for him to have rights, just that if a woman is married when she has a kid, the person she is married to will probably have some rights.
Ah, and I DO have Miami Vice taping from the pilot on! Sweet.
Ah, okay. I get it now. Damn nuances.
that's bound to make your brain go "Oh HELL no, bitch! I am SO not coping with this!"
Can I use that line with my team leader?
I think you must.
I don't know HOW this slipped past me this weekend! In my very own city: "Vampire" to Protest White Castle's Garlic Sandwich.
GGGGGOOOOOODDDD MORNING!!!!
I almost feel bad for my co-workers when I have had a restful weekend. And despite how hard it is to get going, I love love love coming in early. I was in the office at 6:20. I had a seat for the whole commute, mostly empty sidewalks, cool weather, loverly view of the Empire State Bldg.
And then Steph's post to give me a good laugh at the crazy folk. bless their everlovin' precious little hearts.
Wow -- I want some of those drugs you're so obviously on.
Maybe I wouldn't be so grumpy, but even with the AC on I slept lousy last night, and woke up because my arm wouldn't let me find a comfortable position.
I'm back at work. This is wrong in so many ways.
Tom, were you in all weekend?
Today I get to spend most or all of the day at the U of IL Medical Center. This is for the FDA study I'm participating in - they need a bunch of pictures, etc. of what I'm like before the treatment.
Also, they're paying me $40 for my time.
