Jayne: We was just about to spring into action, Captain. Complicated escape and rescue op. Wash: I was going to watch. It was very exciting.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Yeah, what with it being the weekend and all -- time is of the essence. Even if you could go to an Urgent Care place... does your university have a health service thingy?

I'm devastated for you, I truly am. I know you must feel, because I'm sure you love your kitty the way I do mine.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

Cat scratch fever is a real thing. I hope you can get some antibios, Sophia.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

Sophia, that is awful. I am so sorry. As others urged, please get to a Dr. and have them look at your wounds. Getting an infection, or worse, could be very bad.

world record for napping

went to bed at 2, work up 5:30. went bacl to bed at 6, woke up just now.

so 5+ hours of napping. so not normal for me. AND I think I'll be back to bed in another 20 min or so. don't feel sick at all, which is good.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Your day sounds a lot like mine, msbelle. Since midnight last night, I think I've been asleep for 13 hours, all told. Other than allergies, I feel fine, so I think it's catch up from last weekend and busy days all week.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Healing~ma for Sophia, and sanity~ma for the kitty....

ION, here's a funny picture (posted at WFMU with no context besides the caption: "Name that Tune"): [link]

Lair of the White Worm

...there exists a rare, giant, albino earthworm in the scrub prairies of the Palouse. It grows to be 3 feet long, and smells like lilies.

I scarcely believed it myself—that's also Sasquatch country out there, you know—so I had to look it up. The Giant Palouse Earthworm (Driloleirus americanus) is real. They're so rare, though, that one hasn't been spotted in almost 20 years…until last year. A new specimen was found, and unfortunately, fixed in formaldehyde right away.

Right after I posted last, my cat Chumley managed to scramble past me out the back door, and led me on a merry half-hour chase up and down my backyard, from bush to bush. He couldn't decide whether he was Totally Freaked or channelling Elsa from Born Free.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Sophia, I'm going to echo everyone else. Animal bites can get very bad very quickly. You really can't wait until Tuesday to have them looked at.
