Things are good, Jesse! Belated congratulations on being all graduated and stuff.
I am trying to decide if I want to go to dance class tonight. I was supremely motivated this morning, but now I kinda just want to eat some of the peanut butter cup ice cream I bought and watch Rent. What to do? What to do?
Happy belated birthday, Corwood. I hope today is good enough to more than make up for yesterday.
Although there is no f2f for me, I do get to go on a cruise, imbibe beer and/or wine, and listen to fine classical music this afternoon, AIFG. This after having black currant lambic beer last night and watching much Buffy. I think I may be becoming a lush. It's kind of fun, for now anyway.
I assisted, gabbed, and now REALLY have to cut and bleach my hair, despite having the beginnings of a migraine.
REALLY really.
I'm definitely going to Prom but I already feel bad about missing so much. I wish I could have afforded a hotel room as going back and forth across the bridge and paying bridge toll numerous times per day would be pretty expensive too. But getting up in the morning and packing two outfits and having nowhere to take a nap didn't sound attractive, either. I know I'm going to regret all the cool stuff I'm missing (happening a mere 8 or so miles away!) but I need to recover from all the lack of sleep this week too.
life's too short for regrets. enjoy what you can.
I had waffles mmmm.
I need to unpack, but I am still busy watching tv. I'm on hour 3 for the day.
Belated congratulations on being all graduated and stuff.
Thanks! Not so belated -- graduation was just yesterday! Phew.
I hope the migraine doesn't actually appear, ita. I had one in the background on my trip, although it never actually appeared. I was a bit freaked out about driving because I was having interesting visual effects on the plane, but fortunately they abated with fresh air. This is all by way of emphasizing how amazed I am by your fortitude. And you cut your own hair too? Wow.
Thanks! Not so belated -- graduation was just yesterday! Phew.
Woo! Fun. Did you walk?
Our students' graduation ceremony is coming up Wednesday after next and they've been looking for two program representatives to participate, but I'm on the fence. I didn't even walk in my own ceremony, so I'm not sure I want to shell out $60-70 for regalia to walk in someone elses.
As I was going to work yesterday, a bunch of professors came out of the elevator in full academic regalia. I said "Knock 'em dead, guys!" and got a good laugh out of the most senior one. That was fun.
There were loads of grads and grads' families around and the campus florists had imported a bunch of leis. I don't know if you get those back East. Cal and other UC universities have large enough Asian-American student bodies (esp. folks from Hawaii) that leis are more and more common to see at graduation. Plus I think the tradition is growing outside of the Hawaiian students.
Congratulations, Jesse! I'm very impressed that you've gotten your masters. I'm still with my wee li'l bachelors. Which, the longer I go NGA, the more I think about calling my bachelorette degree.
Thanks for the advice, msbelle. I think you're wise. And god knows I wish I could be as productive and chipper as you are. Do you bottle it?
Just sat through graduation ceremony rehearsal thing. It took *forever* and no one really wanted to be there; plus commencement is being held in a gym, which gave the thing an overall feeling of high school. It was very strange, and largely surreal.
Also, the damn dean won't read my name properly, and said she has to call me "Sarah Alison" not "SA" which just pisses me off, because no one will know who the hell I am. Sigh.
