Natter .44 Magnum: Do You Feel Chatty, Punk?
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Just sat through graduation ceremony rehearsal thing. It took *forever* and no one really wanted to be there; plus commencement is being held in a gym, which gave the thing an overall feeling of high school. It was very strange, and largely surreal.
Also, the damn dean won't read my name properly, and said she has to call me "Sarah Alison" not "SA" which just pisses me off, because no one will know who the hell I am. Sigh.
I didn't even walk in my own ceremony, so I'm not sure I want to shell out $60-70 for regalia to walk in someone elses.
I did walk! Our school thing was Thursday, where they said our names, and yesterday was the U's, where we just stood up by school. The cap and gown and hood were only $20! Cheapie, obviously, plus subsidised by the university.

That's ridiculous. I know it's supposed to be formal and all, but you should have some say in the matter. It's not like you were asking to be called Batman. Jeesh.
It would be *so* cool to be called Batman as you walk across the stage to get your diploma.
We are having a very nice pre-graduation reception at the campus for all of our graduates, so I'll probably just hit that and forego the actual ceremony. Although some of my students from the first class I taught at the college are graduating and it would be fun to see them get their degree.
I am volunteering to usher at tomorrow's graduation. Even though I don't work on the main campus, I LOVE graduation. All the parents and grandparents are so proud, you know!
I usually work at the handicapped entrance, which I really like, but this year I am assigned to a regular entrance. Ah well. It will still be fun.
I never walked. I regret it only because I saw how into it my parents were when my sister walked. Then again, she graduated summa cum sumthing. I just graduated.
In fact, I've never been to any of my graduations, for one reason or another. The university one was the lamest--I was around, just didn't bother.
Hair is cut (it's really very simple, libkitty--just all over with a #2, leaving it a little long in the front) and bleach is on. I have a headache, but it's not a migraine, so I'm calling it a win and should have a little lie down.
Or vacuum.
We'll see.
Jesse, your graduation made NPR! Heh.
I have shopped, FINALLY gotten the old microwave off my floor and to Goodwill, got purred at by screech owls, screamed at by a bald eagle, scritched a couple of parrots, menaced (or flirted with, it wasn't clear) by a cattle egret, eyed by a barn owl, peered at by a hawk, bought a slipcover that doesn't fit, started cooking a pork loin, started a load of laundry and shredded some docs. Now I'm going to go kill my neighbor. If I hear "I pledge allegiance to the groove" ONE MORE FUCKING TIME... Some people are unclear on the concept of not sharing your music with every person within 50 yards.

Ooh, on Weekend Edition? I should track that down. Someone had a newspaper article up on her phone before the party was even over last night.
If you watch the clip on CNN [link] , the guy with NO GOP on his hat was in my class.
Ooh, on Weekend Edition?
Yep. I'd say in the first half, but don't quote me on that.
