Hi, Gus!
If your life has felt vaguely unsatisfying for the last twelve-month, you may be relieved to know that it was not you. It was The Tube.
Movies, too. The last movie I saw in the theaters was (I think) Thank You for Smoking, and before that it was Goblet of Fire. Those, and Good Night and Good Luck, are about it for the past seven months or so.
Apparently I missed a dirty joke, anyone care to fill me in? They're kind of my stock in trade.
I
had
missed it. Ewwwwwww.....
They won't even let me look at those shoes. You have no idea how much of the internet is missing when the IT department refuses to update the Flash plugin.
I feel your pain, but fortunately I am at home today, so saw the shoes and the tights. I could seriously see wearing the shoes, but would pass on the tights. I love drinking real coffee, and the caffiene makes me pass on that more often than I would like. I'm not about to get caffiene in a non-flavored way and further reduce my caffienated lattes!
The Unit: Mamet needs to scrape his name off that offal as quickly as possible.
He seems to be actively involved with the show. He wrote the episode I found particularly horrifying. His sister writes for the show, too.
Movies, too. The last movie I saw in the theaters was ...
I'm embarrassed to say:
The Butterfly Effect
It cured me of theaters.
Timelies all!
I'll have to partially agree with Gus. I've been basically disappointed with the stuff I watched on TV this past year, and that =includes= Veronica Mars. The only show I've been watching that hasn't disappointed me is Doctor Who.
(waiting to see if Gus, or anyone for that matter replies)
Ok, I have the lurve for the New Season 1
Doctor.
Veronica
had some slow arcs, I'll grant you. Compare it, though, to the who-gives-a-honk-who-dies of
Lost.
I have missed the beginning of most eps, but I still like
Bones. House
can be repetitive and predictable, but it's nice if you only see it every few eps or so. And,
Grey's Anatomy
is a guilty pleasure. If I weren't so cheap, and had big basic cable, I would also enjoy
SG-1, SG-A
and
Dr. Who,
and might even give
BSG
a try, even though I didn't much like the miniseries.
On the positive side, not having lots of must-see tv, I've really gotten my money's worth out of Netflix.
I was into
Lost
last season, but when they broke their promise at the end, it became dead to me. If I hear it has a good ending, I may watch s2 on DVD.
I am fond of
Medium.
Jake Weber is adorable and they seem like actual married people, with talking things over in bed (to which he wears boxers, like most guys I've known who wear something to bed) and juggling errands in a morning rush and clearly loving and enjoying each other but not flirting 24/7.
And of course
House.

What was the promise? I can't even remember.
