I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

cranky about basement flooding, over here, but more or less OK.

Also the proud new owner of a sump pump.

What is Bush's speech about? I'm guessing immigration issues, but I haven't heard.

I heard immigration.

What do people think about sending thousands of troops to the border?

I think he's crazy, I think this plan is crazy, I frequently think he's trying to kill us all.

Considering the national guard is technically under the auspices of each states' governor and some of the border state guvs are currently cranky that they don't have their national guard units to deal with in state issues (oh, like the whole damned state being a tinderbox. Or let's say you aren't a border state but, I dunno, get whomped by a major hurricane, hmm?) what with them being tasked off to Iraq... you know what? It's a distraction. War isn't going well, there are these major Constitutional issues that you'd rather not discuss...oh I KNOW, let's get everybody lathered up about an ongoing, really complex issue that can be spun into easy soundbites! That's it! It'll look like we're doing something!

Ugh, basement flooding is not fun. I hope nothing got too damaged.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

The rumors of Rove's indictment: [link]

Bah. The general consensus is that he hasn't actually been indcited yet.

Ann, that's a ferret.

I frequently think he's trying to kill us all.

That would explain quite a bit....

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

It's hard to believe that Jason Leopold has those kind of sources, easy to believe he made sources up.

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

did not know about that Bon-Bon; but I did know that truthout is mainly useful as a source for reposted articles; never been reliable for orginal journalism.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I used to feel like Bush was merely wandering around the borders of crazyland with the occasional deep incursion. But now he looks like he's put on his pith helmet and headed into the interior.

I'm starting out my morning watching Teen Titans which is surprisingly good. Why didn't I watch this series before, anyway?

Teen Titans is hellagood, Theo. Great balance of humor and drama/angst. Excellent storylines, and the characterization is frequently better than the comics (particularly Cyborg).

Thanks for the anniversary wishes. What's the second one? Celluloid? Masonite? Is this the duct tape anniversary?

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Huh. And damn, I was really hoping that one would pan out (but getting more skeptical as more time passed without anyone else picking it up. I do find it very curious that Salon doesn't, say, mention their own history with him in that piece.
