The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I just remembered the thing that I need to buy but always forget when I am at the grocery store, and actually wrote it down on my shopping list.

Take THAT, middle aged brain!

Coding and Sleeping

This is just depressing.

U.S. has second worst newborn death rate in modern world, report says...

American babies are three times more likely to die in their first month as children born in Japan, and newborn mortality is 2.5 times higher in the United States than in Finland, Iceland or Norway, Save the Children researchers found.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

"MISSION: Impossible III" star Tom Cruise reportedly got Katie Holmes to ink a $52 million pre-nup. The new parents spent weeks hashing out the details of the agreement, in which a $19 million trust has been set up for Katie and her baby regardless of whether the couple wed, London's Daily Mail claims. But if they do marry and later divorce, Holmes will receive an extra $33.5 million.

That's going to be one ugly custody battle when they get divorced.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

That's going to be one ugly custody battle when they get divorced.

What? Do you think Tom might be a little bit controling?

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

That's going to be one ugly custody battle when they get divorced.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

That's going to be one ugly custody battle when they get divorced.

That's assuming they marry.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Need distractions?

Last week's EW had a special web site edition of their "The Must List" column. Some of them are things we discuss here a lot, like Overheard in New York (#9) and Cute Overload (#1), but some of the others seem worth noting:
#2 Book Covers (just exactly that)
#4 Small Town Misfit (a collection of police blotters from small town papers across the U.S.)
#8 Filmwise (movie trivia quizzes and other stuff)
#10 Japander (Japanese ads starring big US stars) From the site:

Japander:n.,& v.t. 1. a western star who uses his or her fame to make large sums of money in a short time by advertising products in Japan that they would probably never use. ~er (see synecure, prostitute) 2. to make an ass of oneself in Japanese media.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

::hip hip hooray:: I'm getting assigned back to my department for at least two if not three weeks -- I've been crossposted to QA, which would have been fine, but alas the stuff we were supposed to actually test was already badly overdue, but has gotten even more so. Going back to the job I actually know and do well is such a relief!
