Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

That's going to be one ugly custody battle when they get divorced.

That's assuming they marry.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

On sharks even.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Need distractions?

Last week's EW had a special web site edition of their "The Must List" column. Some of them are things we discuss here a lot, like Overheard in New York (#9) and Cute Overload (#1), but some of the others seem worth noting:
#2 Book Covers (just exactly that)
#4 Small Town Misfit (a collection of police blotters from small town papers across the U.S.)
#8 Filmwise (movie trivia quizzes and other stuff)
#10 Japander (Japanese ads starring big US stars) From the site:

Japander:n.,& v.t. 1. a western star who uses his or her fame to make large sums of money in a short time by advertising products in Japan that they would probably never use. ~er (see synecure, prostitute) 2. to make an ass of oneself in Japanese media.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

::hip hip hooray:: I'm getting assigned back to my department for at least two if not three weeks -- I've been crossposted to QA, which would have been fine, but alas the stuff we were supposed to actually test was already badly overdue, but has gotten even more so. Going back to the job I actually know and do well is such a relief!

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

Pinging me repeatedly to ask how soon I can have the third and fourth set of items on my prioritized To Do list will not get them done any sooner. It just interferes with how focused I am while working on the higher priority items, and therefore ensures I'll be working on those longer to correct any mistakes.

Oh, Matt. Could you calmly state my work hate right now as well? I fear that my rant would melt people's computers.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Cat poop protestor prompts court shutdown

Higgins said Carroll, who was still in jail Tuesday, has admitted placing boxes apparently containing cat excrement outside a door of the government building on Saturday. Those boxes, discovered Sunday, are being analyzed to determine their precise contents, he said.

Lake County Detective Robert Bridgeman said Carroll could be charged with battery by bodily waste for those packages, if they turn out to contain feces.

Tonight, on a very special Cat Poop CSI....

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Health ~ma to Theo's aunt.

Today's been a cruddy day. I haven't slept well the last two nights, traffic on 270 this morning sucked donkey balls, and my boss chewed me out(in his own way) for stuff I've done wrong. No wonder I was having a mini-panic attack this afternoon...

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Unexpected hurdle in working from home: cat tail in front of monitor. I thought she slept all day, but today she seems determined to interfere.

Cats only sleep all day when you're not trying to get anything done. My cat will sleep for hours in the other room, but as soon as I'm balancing a book, some articles, and computer on my lap while trying to write a paper, he needs to be RIGHT HERE WITH ME RIGHT HERE LOVE. @@

Interviews went really well, I think! We'll see. Hand-written thank-you note? Email? Not sure. I think I'll email the HR woman and send writing samples, and hand-write to the CEO. Need to decide about the other people.

Hey, Perkins, do you have any interest in black pumps? I have this pair from Easy Spirit that are way too big for me. I still wore them, but sheesh. They're very classic, a little high, but with a solid heel.

Yay!

Hey, Perkins, do you have any interest in black pumps?

Actually, I was just realizing that I needed a pair, so sure.

That reminds me, how do you feel about flipflops and "Chinese" style designs-- I have a light blue pair I think are pretty, but are slightly too small.
