We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

I have to consult with my mom to get all of the cousins' kids names right. Not everyone has had kids, of course, but two of them have five each, and with all the other kids, I'm lost.

There are 14 cousins on my mom's side. 7 spouses or might-as-well-be-spouses, 6 children-of-cousins, and 2 more in the making. And I can name them all! OK, a little fuzzy on a couple of the newer spouses' names, but other than that....

Today, I have an angry robin attacking my window.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I'm bad at the kids of my mother's brothers and their kids, and perfect with the kids of my mother's sisters and their offspring. Half and half on my paternal cousins. Half and half on my maternal second cousins and second once removed. On my father's side, I don't think anyone can keep track that far out. Though it is convenient that he's related to one of his (half-)brothers twice. Saves on memory cells.

It's not a dirty link, exactly. I mean, it's World of Warcraft set to music.

Serial:

Warren Ellis posted this picture in his blog today. Somehow that shoe looks iconic of shoe porn, even though I could and would never wear it. It screams shoe for shoe's sake, with a bit of sex thrown in. The artist is a pretty nifty cartoonist too.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Congrats Hec and JZ!

Bleah. I finally get over my cold...and G comes down with it. Ain't marriage grand?

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

heh. My BFF and her husband passed the same cold back and forth for a month. She finally slept in the guest room for a week, and they were cured.

I know it's early to be making such proclamations, but Dutty Wine Danger has to be the Jamaican headline/article of the week. Has to be.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

On my commute home this evening, I saw:

  • a shouting match turn into a fistfight on a subway platform
  • the louder and angrier man punch the crap out of the other guy, leaving him pretty beat up on the platform
  • Punchy McBrawler start to stroll away as though nothing had happened
  • Cops arrive and attempt to arrest him
  • Punchy McBrawler start to fight with the cops arresting him nearly knocking one of the policemen into the tracks of an oncoming train before the other one finally got him on the ground

And then at the next stop we were (1) held up for a "police investigation" (yeah no shit...) and then (2) told that we would be going express (skipping several stops including mine) due to, I shit you not, "a biohazard condition on the train."

It was at this point that I got off the train and went upstairs to take the bus instead. I think someone should bring me some wine.

I'd offer you virtual wine, but electrons just don't have that kick.

Depends on how you use them.

What does Greek-style mean in reference to yoghurt? The one I just had was way stiff. Not sure if that was the distinguishing characteristic or what.
