She has the 14-year-old ability to put a snear into too sometimes. I die laughing on the inside when she does it, because it's so obnoxious but funny at the same time.
So, so, SO funny. Reallly, tears in my eyes.
Do you ever screw up and do it yourself?
I've been using that as the source of my tagline for a few days now.
Yep, I see that now. I hadn't read the McSweeny's thing until today. Did you already post the link to it?

Yup, although I'm pretty consistant in calling the kids the wrong names so they are used to it. At least I haven't done what my mom did and call either one of them by the dogs name (yet!)
My Grandmother had eight children and a dozen grandchildren. Whe she got worked up she'd just start yelling names.
When she got to "SHEP!" we all just came running.

HA! With that many kids, I'd just be pointing and saying "you".
My grandfather always called me by my aunt's name and then had to correct himself, my mom called both us kids the wrong names (and the dog's!) I have to think about who I'm talking to sometimes to get the right name. I'm thinking it has to be genetic (or I'm slowly losing it!)
I've gotten so used to answering to my sister's name, that when she's actually around I have to sort of check myself.

My brother and I do that, too. Whichever kid is nearest to Mom, answers. It's easier now that he's living in the UK, I don't have to look around to see if he's there.

My Gramma had 24 grandchildren, many of whom were born in bunches. So, when she called our house and got my brother, she'd go through the list of boy cousins who were born in within a few years of him: "Hi, Pat, Tim, Jim, Joe, John, Kip..." "That's me, Gramma!"
Kathy, that's so funny! I'd be sunk trying to remember 24 names, I have a hard time with 2.
