Hey New Yorkers -- how good do you think the odds are that Whole Foods will have kosher-for-passover candy or something?
I'm sure they will -- I'm guessing most grocery stores have a kosher-for-passover aisle this week.
What about a bottle of kosher wine? Everyone at the seder has to drink 4 glasses, so you know it won't go to waste. (And there's *much* better stuff out there than Manishevitz these days.)
Cumin stinks, but adds extra bite to ground meat (and guacamole) if used sparingly.
I like melons, but don't like tomatoes.
Hugs cumin laden bowl of chilli closely
You're welcome to it. Cumin's up there with peanuts. Thai food is probably my kryptonite.
I also dislike tomatoes, but not in sauce, just raw ones.
Oh, oh, me too! This is fun.
How can y'all be so picky about food? Good cooks make you forget the ingredients in favor of the dish.

Right on!
The problem with melon in most (deli) fruit salads is it's cheap out-of-season stuff being used as filler -- zero flavor, hard as nails, and weighs the salad down so it costs more. Melon in season is wonderful, but it shouldn't be thrown around willy nilly.

OK, cool, thanks. I won't worry about it and will see what I can find, including at the liquor store. (I'm guessing my neigborhood doesn't have much in the way of kosher, but I could be wrong. I mean, I'd bet my grocery store has a couple boxes of matzoh but not much more.)

That's a right on right back atcha.
I have almost none of the hates mentioned here
Total list of hates: fish livers, sea urchins, geoducks. That is it. Can force them down to be polite if required, but never enjoy them.
Total list of stuff I'm indifferent to, but can eat and ignore - super bland tasteless stuff.
Every other type of food I like. Tentacles, strong spices, livers of land animals, you name it. Er not a challenge. I'm sure the Buffistas can in fact name foodstuffs I would not eat. But of things I'm actually likely to be offered, I'll pretty much eat anything. Probably part of the reason I'm overweight.
How many melon haters here are tomato haters?
Me! (Although I only hate raw tomatoes, like Dana and Sophia, and Nilly, too, IIRC--yes, this is Buffista topic #243.) All types of melon--musk, cantaloupe, water, all blaaaargh. I avoid fruit salad unless I make it or my mom, who makes a separate bowl for me sans melon before finishing the big bowl for everyone else.
Raw tomatoes are just disgusting tasting, no matter how fresh or heirloom they are. I had to take an already assembled sandwich wrap from the cafeteria last week, and spent a good three minutes picking out all the tomato chunks before biting into it, and when I found out I missed a big chunk, I nearly gagged.
