Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

Hi, Nilly! I've been busy as a bee at work, but at home (as I am today) I'm a veritable sloth.

I'm glad you're hoping for a better day, today! Your weather sounds as unpleasant in its own way as ours has been. Are your holidays done now? I'm a complete ignoramous when it comes to the Jewish celebrations.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

Whee! 4 more sells on ebay. 15 books gone.

Maybe after I eat and do some knitting, I will list some of the bigger items I have.

OH! also need to relist A/C on craigslist.

How about you?

Other than checking the dictionary for "veritable" (yay, I learned a new word!), I'm still pretty much in the "not Passover anymore! Let's spread crumbs around!" phase of the after-holiday.

[Edit: Hee. I just answered your edited question, unknowingly. The last holiday was Wednesday. Then we had one day of work and then the weekend, and now there's a whole full week of no holiday in between! Then, next week, the day of indenendence, just so we'd remember what it's like to have a day off. This time of year is a bit crazy.]

This is when everyone needs a dog, for crumb disposal. Cats aren't very good at it.

looks at all the crumbs around her chair

Nope, no good at it at all.

Crazy, but fun! How do you celebrate your independence day? Anything in particular that is done? Or is it just lots of partying, parades and fireworks at the end of the night, like us?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Morning, peoples. For those of whom it is morning. Hello to the rest of you.

I have nothing to wear to paintball. Well, nothing that fits the recommendation. Layers, in dark blue and earth tones, or camo? Yeah, no. Layers? Turtlenecks for active wear? A scarf I'm willing to subject to the inevitable barrage I will receive? Still NSM.

I've decided it is in my best interests to invite people ove to my place every couple of weeks or so. It forces me to straighten up and de-clutter and clean things that may not get cleaned in the normal weekly cleaning.

IOW, my place is tidy right now and it makes me happy.

It depends on whom you're asking.

For (well, some of) the religious people, there are some additions to the daily prayer. But mostly, it's a secular holiday, so yeah, lots of partying in the evening (though not that many parades nowadays). During the day it seems like the national celebration method is going out to any piece of grass that can be found, and barbecue-ing there, with all sorts of as-much-food-as-possible.

There are definitely fireworks, though. I love fireworks.

Good luck with the wardrobe, ita, as well as with the paintball.

My place is usually in decent visit-readiness more often than not.

Not today, however. No one gets to come visit.

I don't even have shoes for paintball! This is stupid.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Timelies. I just got back from the farmers' market. I was hoping for eggplants and tomatoes, but it seems I'm a bit too early for that. But I still got some greens and strawberries and sweet potatoes and various dairy products, so pretty good day.

Looks like it's about to start raining soon, though, and I've got to study this afternoon, so not as much fun then.
