There's been lots of Scientology talk in the news what with the birth of Suri.
To celebrate, I've been walking around the office spouting "All hail Lord Xenu!"
It's probably good that I only have three officemates.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

I don't know why I'm so interested in this, but apparently Katie Holmes and Brooke Shields gave birth at the same hospital on the same day. [link]
Frank, I read it as Syd and Jack helped Vaughn to fake his death so that Prophet 5 would stop chasing him. (Which explains what the "Dad?" "I'll take care of it" was relating to.) I'm pretty sure Irina doesn't know he's alive.

I have no inbound work email today. not so useful. I guess I'll be on the phone all day with clients.
who else would have gotten word back about his daughter to him so quickly?
I thought that's what the last exchange between Sydney & SpyDaddy was about. That his "I'll take care of it" meant he'd make sure the news got to Vaughn.
Frank, I read it as
I'm not sure if that would make me more or less p.o.ed than what I was thinking. Probably more because the sentimental side of me would like to see Irina come out on the right side like it seemed she had at the end of last season - I love it when the Bristow's do stuff together (the robbery leading to the birthing scene was yet another in a long line of Bristow family outings, so to speak). I also suspect Irina's line about how Sydney will learn she can't be both a mother and an agent means she still wants Syd to get out of the family business (and also seemed like an anvil-sized forshadowing of what may come at the end of the series).
See, I like that Irina hasn't ever really turned "good." She does care for Sydney in her own way, but she will always betray her in the end. Syd and Jack protecting Vaughn is lame, but it's also totally in-character (both for the characters, and for the show).
TAR cracked me up. Drive across the water! Put the camel in the truck! I liked that the frats were just like "Man, we suck" when they kept getting lost. And I still like the hippies -- in a way they remind me of Cha Cha Cha -- sure, they have schtick, but it actually helps them in the race, and they're still having fun.
Bwah -- this week's Onion, Baby, You Mean The World Of Warcraft To Me:
When we met, I was looking for a group fit to take the Zul'Gurub instance. But as I stocked up on provisions at the convenience store before my quest, and our eyes locked, I realized that I was not looking for a group, I was looking for love, and I found it in you. You are the sun, the moon, the Cinderhide Armsplints of the Monkey. There is so much we have to offer one another. Unfailing loyalty, a Strength of 250, someone who can go out for snacks in the heat of battle. Can't you see we're made for each other?
