Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Oh! A woman walked up to me at work and said "You went to McGill? So did I!" We overlapped by a year--turns out this woman had lived in Ontario (check) and had Jamaican parents. And for some strange reason had moved to California, gotten a job with my company, been seated across the way from me, and had noticed my car's license plate holder. We did a lot of reminiscing that first conversation.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

It's a big huge world, except for the part where it's frequently ridiculously tiny.

A friend of mine was riding an elephant through the jungle to Angor Wat. They passed an elephant coming from Angor Wat and his ex-boyfriend from ten years ago was sitting on it.

I think we have a winner! At least, until interplanetary travel is readily available.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

with the career fair thing (yay career fair!).

So, I assume this means they're letting you go? Yay!

I just heard from my now-offically-new apartment managers--they're only charging me the minimum of $300 for the deposit!

And more yay!!!

Yup, they said I needed a packet, and vw picked me up a packet, so I'm good to go.

Now that I've got the place, it only took me 15 minutes to arrange for movers for 5/1 (9:00 am, like you recommended, ChiKat!) and get a hold of my current landlord, who said it should take "considerably less" than the required 30 days to get my deposit back (and all I need to do is leave the place "reasonably clean," so I'm not going to be anal about the final scrub-up). All I've got left to do is contact my utilities and get hookups arranged, get my mail and magazine forwarding taken care of, and then pick up more boxes at the Waldenbooks I used to work at.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Dude. I totally accomplished, like, one thing. I can quit now, right?

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Dude. I totally accomplished, like, one thing. I can quit now, right?

Yes.

Also, it's getting close to 4:00, which means it's almost 5:00, so I should be able to go home, right?
